A little look in to our day at Maker’s Mark Distillery ✨

Back in May, we made a trip up to Loretto, KY to visit Maker’s Mark distillery. Maker’s Mark has been a family owned business since it was founded in 1953. To this day, production from beginning til end still takes place at Star Hill Farm. We spent the day touring this beautiful distillery everywhere from the fermentation room to the aging cavern where barrels are still hand rotated during the aging process.

Because this trip was for a barrel pick, our tasting was different from the tastings during the public Bourbon Trail tours. During our tasting, we crafted the perfect flavor profile by formulating samples with the ten different staves until we found our absolute master piece. We sealed up our barrel with the staves to age a bit longer, signed the barrel and patiently waited for our final product. We received 246 bottles of perfection out of this barrel!

Our Maker’s Mark Private Select: Toasted S’mores has been a fan favorite out of our barrel picks and we can’t wait to bring more in! Have you picked up your bottle yet?
