Paper Lantern Gin takes craftsmanship to a whole new level! You see, they start by crafting their base spirit from good ol' rice right in their own distillery, giving them total control over every step of the gin-making magic. And as if that's not enough, they source hand-picked botanicals from all over Asia, letting them dance in harmony with some Juniper Berries in a fancy copper pot still. To top it all off, they add a hint of that sweet longan berry honey from up North in Vietnam. No wonder Paper Lantern Gin is winning awards left and right! It's like tradition and innovation had a wild party in a bottle, mate. You gotta try it! ;)

[Gintastic weekly feature 🎉- Limited release Bimber’s Kumquat Gin]

Do you fancy citrus gins? If so, you’re gonna really like this limited release. It’s made with 8 carefully thought of citrus forward botanicals; kumquat, lemon, orange, grapefruit among others.

On the nose is an instant whiff of bright citrus aroma; the first sip reveals a burst of citrus-y flavour, with a very strong emphasis of kumquat and an exceptionally smooth and rounded mouthfeel. It’s crisp and highly refreshing with just a cube of ice in it.

Made in Bimber distillery in London, the star of this gin is Fortunella obovate, aka, Kumquat. It’s a smaller variety of citrus that takes a longer time to grow and only tastes its best seasonally. Fresh Kumquat is peeled, squeezed and distilled, along with other citrus fruits, to produce a uniquely citrus-forward gin.

This is a sipping gin best enjoyed on its own - on the rocks or if you love a mixer, with a splash of cold soda water or dry, low sugar ginger ale.

We really appreciate the bottle design too. It's a traditional Chinese medicinal bottle decorated with a simple calligraphy type stroke of the Chinese character, 八 (eight), to signify the number of botanicals used. It's a beautiful addition to any alcohol display.

It’s exclusively available to us and we’ve only got 8 bottles of this limited release. There’s a high chance we may not re-stock this till next year or ever again.

[Fun fact - did you know that our gin-expert, Leah always has a glass on hand when she writes these reviews? As she breathes in the aroma of the gin, sips and thoughtfully tastes it, it allows her to convey every single botanical and sensation through these words as authentically and accurately as possible.]

[Gintastic weekly feature 🎉- Hojicha Gin!]

What an amazing find! Being huge fans of Matcha 🍵 and Hojicha, we’re excited to introduce… Sado gin! A gin steeped with Hojicha tea leaves from a small plantation in Okumikawa, Japan.

We particularly enjoy the mouthfeel of this gin - slightly oily on the tongue, with initial front notes of hojicha, followed by piney juniper. The tea flavours are layered with citrus, lemongrass, floral elderflower and pink pepper spice, which are well-balanced and harmonise with the tea notes.

The founders of this gin initially fell in love with Hojicha and travelled far and wide in Japan to source for the best quality Hojicha tea. There they’ve found a small plantation in Okumikawa that produced remarkable teas and experimented with a variety of combinations to find the perfect balance and fit of these botanicals; Juniper, Hojicha Tea, Orris Root, Coriander seeds, Elderflower, Sweet orange peel, Lemongrass and pink peppercorn.

We find this gin most optimal when mixed with light tonic and hojicha or green tea. Freshly brewed Oolong tea with a splash of tonic and (majority) gin works really well too! If you’re a long time gin drinker, we recommend this on the rocks or with a splash of light tonic - it’s good on its own, or in a martini.

On sale at a special launch price of 85 (U.P 105). Only 6 bottles are available at this price. Promo ends 21 June.

We were lucky to find this hidden gem! For gin lovers who’re looking for great gin at a great price, this is a really good quality gin priced affordably at just 85 a bottle!

We’re not big on huge marketing dollars spent on a gin but rather, more focused on the quality and deliciousness of a gin (yup, fancy marketing won’t convince us 😉

As continued from our previous post, this is the second gin we tried from our African range that we enjoyed! 🍸

This Hobbs pink peppercorn gin is from Salt River, Cape Town in South Africa and made with local cane neutral spirit, then distilled with pink peppercorns and African botanicals 🌱🌺 We’d say it’s rather intense and meant for lovers of spice forward gins, and of course, pepper and cardamom.

It’s delicious when combined with Indian tonic with a 1:2 ratio

If you’re not a fan, they also released a dry gin that’s more citrus like with lemongrass and gentle spices.

Get them in time for Easter at just 85 a bottle! DM us to order and we’ll pop in a free indian tonic, or purchase from craftginsco.com

Having tried quite a number of gins (500+ and counting…) it’s always a question of - “What should we try next?” 😂

Recently, we got into African gins and tasted over 15 different varieties! The type of botanicals used were really interesting because of the botanicals used, all extremely smooth with no burn felt for 40% ABV and above!

Of all those we tried, we really liked 2 of them (second one will be featured in our next post) -

The Hope African Botanical Gin from Cape Town -

If you’ve not tried any African gins, we recommend starting with this. It’s uniquely herb like with pine-y notes. It’s a dry gin nonetheless with a unique spin and distinct botanicals. It’s South Africa in a glass - you can almost smell those bushes and wild animals trotting by (almost!) 🐺🐗

We enjoyed it with grapefruit soda and a wedge of grapefruit very much! 🍇🍹

The gin also celebrates South Africa’s distinctive fynbos, and hand-picked organic kapokbos, otherwise known as snowbush, and buchu from their unique floral kingdom.

Kapokbos is a wild sweet rosemary, which adds
floral and herbaceous notes, and buchu is a smallfragrant shrub that lends uniquely punchy
blackcurrant notes.

Available at 99 for a limited time only! DM us to order and get a grapefruit soda for free, or get yours at craftginsco.com

About Craft Gins Co

Gin is our passion, clearly.

We carefully curate our gins and pride ourselves by featuring only quality gins that have undergone a stringent distillation process, infused with bold botanicals to deliver a floral, spicy, or fruity finish. Unlike most distributors, who are profit driven, we’re purely passion driven and advocate only the best gins the world has to offer.

The range of gins that you will get to experience are of different natures, from floral to fruity, spicy, woody, etc. They are infused from anywhere from 20-40 botanicals such as butterfly pea, eucalyptus, kaffir lime, yuzu, and cherry blossom.

We regularly provide tasting events and team bonding gin appreciation sessions. You can also find us on instagram @craftginsco or www.craftginsco.com
