Yamazakura 35 Ultimate Edition 2020 Rare Old Whisky
Region: Japan/World
Distillery: Yamazakura (Sasanokawa Shuzo)/World
Age: About 35 Years
ABV: 57% (Natural Cask Strength)
Size: 600ml

A rare and old whisky from Yamazakura aged for over 35 years. Initially in bourbon cask and reportedly finished for about 1 year in sherry casks. Specially bottled by hand at cask strength, this whisky is elegant, excellently balanced and rounded yet offering a variety of flavours including crisp buttered toast, ripe apricots with an oily texture and a lingering warm finish. A very rare bottle to find since only 55 bottles were released in November 2020 and each bottle has been hand crafted by Japanese Artisan Hideaki Kakurai, making each bottle unique and different than the other.

We were captivated by his journey through fruity, floral, and herbal flavor notes. Marcus introduced a unique discovery from Kagoshima, beautifully highlighting Japanese Zen Cha tea, milk punch, Hachi Kokuto, and Hachi Ume in his creations. Truly delightful and inspiring!

We held Cocktail Championship 2024 FINALS at on November 3rd and what a great day it was.....Celebrating a spirit from Japan with more than a 500 Year history , this versatile gem is being most recently discovered amongst the bartending community worldwide!

With more than 75+ participants across Hong Kong & Singapore, a mandatory Shochu masterclass for all participants, an onsite judging of each cocktail followed by a semi finals in Hong Kong and then a semi-finals in Singapore....the FINALS was a culmination of more than 8 months of hard work by the Mizunara Team .hk .sg and a conceptualization that had started even pre-COVID.

A huge thank you to all the judges who have played a significant role through the entire process
