👋🏼 how’s everyone doing? We took a little bit of a hiatus but I’m happy to say that we’re back and ready to rock and roll! Earlier in the year we had the pleasure to spend a few days with the Yautepec community that supports one of the brands we’ll be carrying in our initial portfolio. We can’t share any details just yet but we’ll be able to very soon. Stay tuned!

Living two hours away with a pack of dogs makes day trips to Oaxaca a bit of a challenge, but we’re so very thankful to have made it to Mujer Agave on Saturday. It was truly inspiring and empowering to be surrounded by women who have achieved the impossible within the mezcal industry, with hopefully many more to follow their footsteps. Really looking forward to the next one ♥️🥃

We took a break from mezcal to learn more about coffee in Pluma Hidalgo. Hopefully we’ll be back again before end of the year to help out with the harvest ☕️💪🏼

It’s that time of the year when both of the Polish and Mexican cultures in our house combine into a beautiful celebration: Day of the Dead 🇵🇱🇲🇽 (flowers used in both counties for the celebration are shown in this photo)

We finally upgraded our website into something that’s a bit more comprehensive (link in bio), and hopefully this provides you with additional information about what we’re really about. Our next steps are to confirm and finalize agreements with some of our favorite mezcal producers, so hopefully we’ll have some more exciting news to share soon 😁

Pictured is a refrescador used by one of our friends, and to no surprise this helps produce some of the most amazing mezcals we’ve tasted so far.

Weathering the end of hurricane season, which has brought us nonstop rain for the last few days. At least the rain has been good for the fauna and crops out here in Sierra Sur 😁

At the beginning of every October, the region of Sierra Sur unites and celebrates the anniversary of “Battle of Miahuatlan”, a significant historical moment that took place on October 3rd, 1866. During this multi-day festival, the streets become full of food vendors and attractions, and at night they showcase fireworks and cultural displays. Additionally, many horses are brought in from all over the region to form a parade, as shown in this photo.

As people say, Miahuatlan is where “old Oaxaca” still lives on.

It’s near the end of the rainy season out here in Miahuatlan, so we’ve been able to get out and see the fruitions that the rain brought us. Yesterday we went for a hike along the mountains in Sierra Sur and saw numerous quiotes, way more than what we observed at this time last year. Photographed is one of the many tobalá quiotes - both Potatorum and Seemanniana - that we came across.

We got to spend yesterday evening celebrating Mexico's Independence Day in downtown Miahuatlan, which involved pozole, tacos al pastor, and of course, some beer. While this photo wasn't from yesterday, it's one of my favorite ones that I've taken of the city so far as I believe it captures Miahuatlan's urban aspect yet still conveys how close it is to the Sierra Sur mountains.

Cześć, hola, hello! 👋

We are very excited to introduce ourselves as Pikantna Agawa, Kraków's newest importer of mezcal. While we haven't officially launched in the Poland market yet, we're gearing up to do so in the next few months. In the meantime, we'll be sharing progress updates, educational content, and some information about the company and who we are.

This photo was taken last year during one of Agave Spirit Institute's courses in San Luis Amatlán. The one-week course took us on a deep dive into mezcal, food, and the culture within Oaxaca. In future posts, we'll be sharing experiences and lessons learned from the program in hopes that the information provides you with a deeper understanding of mezcal itself.
