Cataract is a cloudy formation on the lens which is caused by the breakdown of protein in the eye lens. This leads to blurred vision and eventually can cause blindness, if left untreated. Cataract can develop at the center, edge or back of the lens and may affect one or both the eyes. Among the common risk factors are diabetes, hypertension, obesity, excessive sun exposure, eye injuries, intake of steroids, smoking, and alcohol consumption. Some people also suffer from congenital cataract which means they are born with the condition.
Cataract can be treated with surgery, which are considered safe and effective. We offer trusted quality cataract surgeries at our Main Campus in Karachi and our Hyderabad Hospital.
