RODENBACH Caractère Rouge was developed in 2011 in collaboration with top chef Viki Geunes (2 Michelin stars). This exclusive beer is created by adding an extra six months’ fermenting maceration with cherries, raspberries and cranberries to beer that has already undergone two years’ maturation in oak casks. The result is an exceptional RODENBACH with a 7% alcohol by volume. RODENBACH Caractère Rouge is vinous with a very complex, fruity nose of raspberry and cherry combined with notes of wood and caramel. The undertone consists of an aroma of violets, leather and a hint of to***co. The taste is rather sour but exceptionally pure. With its long, clean aftertaste and its unique combination of delicacy and strength, RODENBACH Caractère Rouge is reminiscent of a crisp Burgundy wine. This noble beer is unique and exclusive. In his restaurant ’t Zilte, Viki Geunes combines this willful beer with his sophisticated gastronomic creations.

Aluminum cans offer 100% protection from UV and other wavelengths of light that are harmful to beer. There's still great debate surrounding whether cans or bottles are better at keeping beer fresh, but if done correctly, cans are theoretically the superior option. When a crown cap is crimped onto a bottle, the lining of the cap can form an imperfect seal on the bottle, allowing small amounts of oxygen in, as well as small amounts of CO2 out. Over time this can result in oxidation of the beer and lost carbonation. Seamed cans form a much better seal, which can prevent these issues.

Aside from better protection, aluminum cans are undoubtedly the safest option for sharing and enjoying your homebrew. Bring your canned creations tailgating, camping, boating, or crack a few open poolside without the worry of broken glass!

𝐁𝐞𝐥𝐠𝐢𝐚𝐧 𝐖𝐢𝐭-𝐒𝐭𝐲𝐥𝐞
LalBrew® Wit (formerly Munich Wheat) yeast is a relatively neutral strain which can be used to produce a wide variety of wheat beer styles. Ester and phenol production is lower than for traditional hefeweizen strains such as Munich Classic. LalBrew® Wit provides a baseline profile of banana and spice aromas, but leaves space for the brewer to showcase other spice additions typical of Belgian style beers.

𝐆𝐥𝐚𝐝𝐟𝐢𝐞𝐥𝐝 𝐀𝐮𝐫𝐨𝐫𝐚 𝐌𝐚𝐥𝐭 is an aromatic malt which has been developed to produce rich bready, fruit cake aromas and imparts an orange/red colour to the brew. If you want to make that big malty, robust beer, then this is a great malt to use. The barley has undergone a long traditional germination process followed by a carefully controlled kilning regime to create a reaction between the complex sugars and amino acids. The resulting Maillard reaction is responsible for the colour, flavour and aroma of our Aurora Malt. This malt is ideal for brewing dark ales, Belgium styles, and high alcohol beers.
