"Timeless Elegance in Every Sip"

Yarra Yering is one of the oldest and most beautiful vineyards in Victoria’s Yarra Valley. Established in 1969 by Dr Bailey Carrodus, the 1973 vintage saw production of the first vintage of Dry Red Wine No. 1 and Dry Red Wine No. 2. Yarra Yering quickly gained an international reputation for quality and individuality and paved the way for other Yarra Valley wineries.

The No. 1 Red is composed of Yarra Yering's the finest old vine fruit, which is berry selected to produce unmatched purity and focus. Drink now or age a good while!

The No. 2 Red is based on their original1969 plantings of Shiraz and Marsanne, the latter of which joins small amounts of later-planted Viognier and Mataro (Mourvedre) to make a wine that is juicy and expressive when young, but with significant potential for medium term aging.

The Wine Tasting Events are back on schedule!

We are super excited to welcome Gaston Sarlangue who work in the industry for a lot of years in store for our first free French Wine Tasting of 2024. We're still finalizing a few of the details, if you are as confident as we are that this will be a fantastic evening, please secure the date on your calendar :)

There will be four different wines available to try on the day, one rose, one chardonnay and two red wines.

The Macallan A Night On Earth - Available Now

'The Journey" is the third release of this whisky. A collaboration with Chinese artist Nini Sum, and aims to capture the experience and emotions of New Year's Eve.

This limited-edition whisky boasts a delightfully rich and lively flavors, reminiscent of the dazzling fireworks illustrated on the label against an evening sky. A mixture of first-fill Bourbon casks and Macallan's characteristic sherry seasoned oak gives this whisky a creamier and more vivacious feel than many of the distillery's other releases.

Tasting note

A nose of toasted oak, creamy steamed rice and coconut milk pudding, citrus fruits, vanilla and oat biscuits. On the palate is a burst of effervescent citrus fruits—lemon and lime with sweet creamy vanilla sponge and toasted coconut, finishing with sweet toasted oak and vanilla.

This release marks a unique time of year and its vibrant, playful design reflects the joyous and celebratory nature of the occasion. The packaging itself is a work of art, showcasing Nini Sum's bespoke designs in a multi-layered gift box. The back of the pack features a contemporary cityscape in soothing blue hues, creating an intriguing contrast when you peel back the first layer. These bright flashes of colour represent leaving the city behind to embark on a heartfelt journey home to loved ones. The front of the pack, adorned in red, captures the essence of both day and night. Dark red hues evoke the night sky, stars, and fireworks, while light red hues mirror the serenity of daylight, mountains, clouds, and the beauty of nature. As you open the gift box, you will be greeted by a warm, inviting yellow and orange interior, reminiscent of lantern light and the comforting feeling of coming home. You will discover a bottle surrounded by imagery of the moon rising above the rooftops, symbolising hope and new beginnings. Trees, representing long life, peace, shelter and good health, echo with the trees. The circles on the packaging evoke the myriad of twinkling lights shining under the roofs of many families at night - a true celebration of togetherness.

We have decided to close the shop for the Christmas period a little earlier than usual this year so that we can take a well-deserved break to spend time with our little one.

Awarded 48 out of 50 points and Trophy for Best Contemporary Gin at the 2023 Australian Gin Distillers Awards from approx 200 entries in this category. Only NZ Gin ever to be awarded a Trophy in Australia.

Tasting Notes:

A very pleasant set of aromas on the nose unveiling juniper, mandarin and chocolate.

On the palate this gin is dry, with a beautiful soft mouthfeel which supports the warming, mouthfilling quality of the spirit.

Flawlessly balanced bold flavours of juniper, mandarin, chocolate and a hint of vanilla lead into a long finish.

The judges thought that this gin presented a great mix of botanicals in a contemporary fashion.

Pair with Fever Tree Tonic Naturally Light for a refreshing low calorie drink. Or you can enjoy with a few lumps of ice.

New Collection - Domaine De L'Aurage 2016 Vintage

For fans of voluptuous but elegant Bordeaux, the name "Mitjavile" has a special kind of aura. Since the seventies, Francois Mitjavile has built a fanatic fanbase for his garagiste-quantity wines from his Right Bank estate Chateau Tertre Roteboeuf, Roc de Cambes and Domaine de Cambes.

Following in his fathers’ footsteps, Louis Mitjaville turned to this lesser-known appellation of Castillon and repeated the efforts of Francois by creating elegance and richness with the L’Aurage.

The vineyard is made in one block, on the heights of Saint Genes de Castillon, on the border of the Saint Emillion appellation. The soil is Clay-Limestone. Hand-harvested at maximum ripeness, fermented in tank, and aged in French oak barrel for 18-20 months.

Grapes: Merlot, Cabernet Franc

The wine has pure, seductive bouquet of strawberry pastille, morello cherries and touches of blood orange and creme de cassis, with crystalline purity and an inviting verve. The palate bristles with energy, firm but supple tannins channeling the lush red berry fruit through to a powerful, focused finish. The overall impression is off balance and harmony.

New collections from Prophet's Rock arrives at the store

We've been long-time admirers of Paul Pujol's winemaking, from his outstanding Pinot Noirs, to his lees-aged Prophet's Rock Pinot Gris that we rate among NZ's finest. Having developed many of his skills with aromatic whites at Maison Kuentz-Bas in Alsace, he also had the rare honour of working vintage at Domaine Comte Georges de Vogue in Burgundy, maker of some of the world’s finest Pinot Noirs. Such experiences have given Paul a markedly different philosophy to most NZ winemakers and his wine.

Gohyakumangoku Junmai-Shu Sake

From nakano brewery's best selling Kinokuniya Bunzaemon (KB) series, a multi-award-winning dry and lighter junmai-shu.

The brewer's careful use of the distinctive gohyakumangoku ("5 million stones") rice variety makes for a superbly refreshing sake, rich in aroma, and with a clean finish.

Pairs well with lighter, more delicate flavours, e.g. sashimi, sushi, Bluff oysters, or tempura.

Recommended for lovers of warm sake.

Meow Lucky Gin: A dry gin, led by juniper with lush sweet Yuzu, mouthwatering Sichuan pepper and ancient gingko leaf. Meow Lucky Gin, with a great punch of heat that will leave you with a slight tingle all over.

Scapegrace REVENANT III and RISE I Whiskey are in stock now :)

REVENANT III : The third limited release of single malt whisky. Revenant is made using laureate barley that has been smoked with manuka wood, and aged for three years in virgin French oak. Non-chill filtered and with natural colour, 4,366 bottles were produced.

Nose: Aromatic smoke, with drizzles of floral honey.
Palate: Toasted wattleseed, with gentle smoke, and shavings of dark chocolate, with a twist of dried citrus peel.
Finish: Smoldering embers linger, with toasted spices.

RISE I : First in a line of limited releases in the run up to the anticipated core range from the distillery, Rise is made using New Zealand laureate barley and aged for five years in virgin French oak casks. Non-chill filtered and naturally coloured, 4,548 bottles were produced.

Nose: Plenty of oaky spice and vanilla, with gingersnap biscuits.
Palate: Crumbly hazelnut crostata, with allspice, pepper, and drizzles of caramel.
Finish: Nuttiness and warm spices.
