Black wheat has been developed by National Agri biotechnology lnstitute after 7 years of research, by process of selective cross breeding two cultivars, one of Japanese variety and one one high yield Indian variety. The purpose of working with this variety is to increase the content of anthocyanin as it prevents the formation of free radicals in human body. It isn’t the genetically modified but has been created by selectively cross breeding two cultivars.
Black wheat is richer in all nutrients, bio active compounds and antioxidants, that helps reducing inflammation, diabetes, cancer, obesity, gastritis.
It content high iron and zinc in compare to regular wheat.
