Black wheat has been developed by National Agri biotechnology lnstitute after 7 years of research, by process of selective cross breeding two cultivars, one of Japanese variety and one one high yield Indian variety. The purpose of working with this variety is to increase the content of anthocyanin as it prevents the formation of free radicals in human body. It isn’t the genetically modified but has been created by selectively cross breeding two cultivars.

Black wheat is richer in all nutrients, bio active compounds and antioxidants, that helps reducing inflammation, diabetes, cancer, obesity, gastritis.
It content high iron and zinc in compare to regular wheat.

गौरबको कुरा के छ भने तोरीको बीउ उत्पादनमा नेपाल विश्वमै पहिलो स्थानमा छ । हामी मध्ये धेरैजसो, तोरीको दाना र रेपसीडको बीचमा भ्रमित हुन्छौं, जुन उपस्थितिमा समान देखिन्छ। तोरीको दाना जहिले पनि माघ महिनामा काटिन्छ र त्यस्तै देखिने रापसेड र अन्य बीउ वैशाख महिनामा काटिन्छ। हिउँदमा काटिने तोरीको दाना बढी स्वादिलो ​​र सुगन्धित हुन्छ ।

हाम्रो उत्पादन स्थल नजिकै रहेको तोरीको बिरुवाका केही तस्बिरहरू। कर्णाली नदीबाट सिँचाइ हुने यी तोरीको तेल स्वादिलो ​​हुन्छ ।

Proudly, Nepal ranks the first position in the production of Mustard seeds in the world. Most of us, gets confused between mustard seeds with r**e seeds, which appear similar in appearance. Mustard seeds are always harvested in the month Magh, and similar looking r**eseeds and other seeds are harvested in the month of Baisakh. Mustard seeds that is harvested in winter are more tastier and aromatic.

Some photoes of mustard plant located near our production site. Irrigated by River Karnali, the oil of these mustard seeds taste better.

Traditional method of paddy Harvesting-
- paddy crops are cut down using sickle or reaper machine and left on the field for drying for 3-4 days,
- then the dried crops are collected and paddy is seperated using threshing machine.

This day is considered auspicious for commencing rice planting activities for the year.
