The most important AI news of the last month!

AI has been making waves recently, with loads of cool new stuff popping up in different industries. OpenAI launched ChatGPT and Whisper APIs and even dropped the new GPT-4, which shows they're really pushing the boundaries of what language AI can do. Big names like Google, Microsoft, and Apple are also jumping on the AI bandwagon, adding it to their products like Google Workspace, Microsoft 365 Copilot, and Siri's Operation Bobcat. Plus, AI is making a difference in healthcare, like with UBC's model that predicts how long cancer patients might live. But, it's not all smooth sailing. We've seen some hiccups, like that ChatGPT bug that exposed people's chat history! And with UNESCO calling for AI ethics and some AI bigwigs saying we need a pause, it's clear we've got to keep an eye on the ethical side of things as AI keeps on growing.

Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg announces brand new WhatsApp application for Windows.

WhatsApp has claimed that the new Windows desktop app loads faster and is built with an interface familiar to WhatsApp and Windows users. The users can host group video calls with up to 8 people and audio calls with up to 32 people. WhatsApp has also promised future increments to these limits over time.

सामान्य अर्थमा भन्नुपर्दा 'बार्ड' एआईमा आधारित टुल हो । यसलाई ड्याल-ई र च्याटजीपीटी जस्तै नयाँ कन्टेन्ट बनाउन प्रयोग गर्न सकिन्छ । यसलाई 'जेनेरेटिभ एआई' पनि भन्ने गरिन्छ । जेनेरेटिभ एआईको अर्थ त्यस्तो एआई, जसले भिडिओ, अडियो, फोटो तथा शब्दमा कन्टेन्ट तयार पार्न सक्छ । तर बार्ड भने टेक्स्ट तयार पार्ने कुरामा केन्द्रित छ । यसले कुराकानीको शैलीमा प्रश्नका जवाफ दिने गर्छ ।

ओपनएआईले जीपीटी फोर सार्वजनिक गरिसक्दा पनि गुगलले सम्पूर्ण प्रयोगकर्ताका लागि बार्ड उपलब्ध गराउन सकेको छैन । च्याटजीपीटीको उदयसँगै गुगलले एआईमा आधारित च्याटबट ल्याउन लागेको भनिएको छ ।

तर, गुगलले भने यस कुरालाई अस्वीकार गरेको छ । कम्पनीले सन् २०१७ नै लाम्दा (LaMDA) टुल सार्वजनिक गरेको थियो । अहिले नयाँ नाम दिइएको बार्ड पनि यही लाम्दाद्वारा सञ्चालित छ ।

त्यसैले गुगल आफूले यस अघि नै एआईमा आधारित च्याटबट ल्याइसकेको बताउँदै आएको छ । यद्यपि नयाँ च्याटबट हालसम्म सबै प्रयोगकर्ताका लागि उपलब्ध भइसकेको छैन ।
