💥 Exciting New Arrival! 🍇

We are thrilled to announce the arrival of a spectacular new wine from the renowned family of Hajós-Baja – introducing Jónás!

This exceptional blend is crafted with precision and passion, combining 40% Olaszrizling, 25% Hárslevelű, 25% Riesling, and 10% Cserszegi Fűszeres, from the vineyards of Herreberg and Érsekhalma, where the unique soil composition of limestone, loess, sand, and clay adds remarkable depth and character.

The Sziegl family’s meticulous winemaking process involved 7-8 different harvest days from various vineyards, ensuring a perfect balance of Ph, acidity, and ripeness. The early harvests were whole bunch pressed, while the later ones were trampled and soaked. About 60% of Jónás was fermented and aged in wooden barrels (500L), approximately 200 liters fermented in ceramic amphorae, and the rest in tanks. Before bottling, the wines were blended, unfiltered, unfined, and bottled with lees.

Jónás offers a tea-like, creamy, and complex palate with good acidity. It’s a reliable companion for any occasion, delivering a unique and delightful experience every time.

🍷🌋 Last month, we had the pleasure of visiting PAP wines to taste their new vintages, and we’re thrilled to share our experience with you! Áron and Karina, biodynamic natural winemakers from the volcanic Szent-György hegy, craft unique and vibrant selection of wines that perfectly capture the essence of this stunning region. The basalt-rich volcanic soil, generous slopes overlooking Lake Balaton, and preserved biodiversity impart a one-of-a-kind character to their vineyards.

Exciting news! New wines from PAP Wines will land in Amsterdam very soon. Here’s a sneak peek of what to expect:

🍊 Don’t Tell Mama ‘22: A rare 50-50 blend of Kéknyelű and Olaszrizling, 10 days on skins. It has an oily texture with notes of orange and lemon peel, rosemary, and tarragon.

🍊 Jumis ‘22: An exquisite orange wine made from Hárslevelű, bursting with white flowers, elderflower, spices, stunning minerality, and hints of honey and almonds.

🍷 Rabbit’s Foot ‘21: A unique red/white blend with 70% Cabernet Franc and Zweigelt and 30% Szürkebarát (Pinot Gris), which matured in used Szamorodni oak barrels. The result is a juicy red with red berries, cherries, and a faint spiciness on the finish.

Using innovative winemaking techniques, Puritán is bottled with the Pet-nat method and matured on lees in the bottle for an impressive 43 months. Upon second bottling, it's delicately decanted off the lees. No added sulphites, unfined, and unfiltered—truly a pure expression of Géza's artistry. ⚡

🍇 Furmint: This grape effortlessly dazzles in both dry and sweet wines, offering something for every palate. Furmint is a Hungarian grape known for making great white wines, especially in Tokaj. It's special because it has a natural tartness that works well in both dry and sweet wines. It has notes of zesty green apples, juicy pears, apricots, honey, and a touch of spice. Prepare to tantalize your taste buds with a real fruit bomb on the palate! This exquisite wine showcases a delightful symphony of flavors, including cherry, blueberry, blackberry, saffron, violet, and earth, adding depth and complexity to every sip.

Crafted from organically grown grapes with the utmost care. The 45-year-old vineyards have given birth to an exceptional vintage, boasting a relatively low yield of just 0.5 kg per vine plant, resulting in concentrated and rich flavors. Levente's Kékfrankos has undergone a meticulous winemaking process, from gentle harvest processing and manual pressing to natural sedimentation. The must was fermented for one month and then matured unfined in old Hungarian oak barrels for nearly 2 years, culminating in wine with unique and enticing spicy notes. Bottled without filtration and fining and without any added sulfites.

Looking for a wine region with a rich winemaking history dating back to Roman times? Look no further than Szekszárd, located in the southern part of Hungary! This region is known for its excellent red wines, produced using local and international grape varieties. It has over 2000 hectares of vineyards facing different directions along five central valleys.

The terroir of Szekszárd is diverse, with loess soils and limestone deposits left behind by the prehistoric Pannonian sea, making it perfect for growing various grape varieties. The main grape varieties grown in the region are Kékfrankos/Blaufränkisch, Kadarka, Cabernet Franc, Zweigelt, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Merlot. Szekszárd is also famous for its signature local blend, the Szekszárdi Bikavér, made from at least four grape varieties, including Kékfrankos and Kadarka.

🍷 Introducing Lenkey Pincészet's newest addition to our collection - the November sweet late-harvest cuvée from Tokaj!

Made from over-ripe Furmint and Hárslevelű grapes harvested in November without any botrytis affecting them, this wine is truly unique. The grapes were whole-cluster pressed and macerated for 24 hours before undergoing spontaneous barrel fermentation and matured for 20 months with an additional 5 years of bottle aging.

The result? A deep and complex sweet wine from Tokaj with honey, melon, cinnamon, vanilla notes, and a faint smokiness. This refreshing wine boasts a long finish and is perfect for sipping by its own or paired with your favorite dessert.

🍷 NEW ARRIVALS 🍷 We're excited to introduce two new wines from from the famous Tokaj region!

First up is Betsek 2019, a fabulous blend made of 70% Furmint and 30% Hárslevelű grapes. This wine boasts aromas of sandalwood, vanilla, and allspice on the nose, while the palate is characterized by citrus flavors with notes of green apple and mint.

Our second new arrival has a firm nose with hints of yellow apples and pears, and as it warms, barrel notes become more apparent. On the palate, it has flavors of chestnut and peach, with a tight, chalky minerality and a hint of butteriness.

A truly exceptional wine experience! Mára orange wine from the ancient Hungarian Kéknyelű grape variety, originating from the Badacsony region, is now in the Netherlands! 🌋Very limited bottles! Mára was for 10 days in skin contact and then aged in oak barrels for ten months. 370 bottles were produced, unfiltered and unfined ! Come and get them! 🔥
