- Château Cheval Blanc 💎

In the heart of Bordeaux, between Saint-Emilion and Pomerol, lies this "Winery of wonders" that offers refined wines with a uniquely unmatched ageing potential.

But it’s not just the wine that amazes: the historic 18th-century estate is complemented by a modern and unmistakable building, designed by architect Christian de Portzamparc and inaugurated in 2011 ✨

A white concrete structure, with glass and wood elements, spanning 5,500 m² over two levels, characterised by soft lines that blend seamlessly with the landscape and allow natural light to illuminate every corner.

In a small 10-hectare plot in Valle Solinga, since 1988 Andrea Picchioni has been dedicated to enhancing the Oltrepò region, an area with a long winemaking history that has experienced its fair share of "ups and downs".

Andrea marked a turning point by rediscovering and cultivating traditional varieties like Croatina, Barbera, and Vespolina, alongside Pinot Noir, using a sustainable and organic approach 🍇

These varieties produce wines that stand out for their lively personality and strong sense of terroir.

- Valter Bera 🍷

With a winemaking heritage passed down through generations, since 1975 Valter and his wife, now joined by their sons Umberto and Riccardo, have been faithful interpreters of some of the most important denominations in southern Piedmont.

We’re on the hills north of Neviglie, between Treiso and Neive: here, across over 23 hectares of land with clay-limestone soils rich in calcium, they cultivate both native and international grape varieties.

The former to craft the various expressions of Barbaresco, Barbera, and Moscato d'Asti; the latter to create the intriguing Alta Langa Brut Metodo Classico.

- Today, Your Personal Sommelier takes you to the New World of wine, challenging you to identify the only indigenous grape variety from South Africa 🇿🇦

We’ve already given you one clue. Here are a few more to help you find its name:
🍇 It was created in 1925 from the crossing of Pinot Noir and Hermitage (the local name for Cinsault)
🍇 Although it is the symbol of the country, it only accounts for 6.5% of the vineyards, overshadowed by international varieties such as Cabernet Sauvignon and Syrah
🍇 It can be vinified alone or blended with other varieties like Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot, creating blends known as "Cape Blend"
