Bio,Robert O’Rourke/ RO’R
The American Artist
Robert was born in Brooklyn, New York on Saturday 31 May 1958.
His family moved many times and he learned many skills and how to use many tools
and play musical instruments which he and his brother Eddie learned to play by ear.
After many years and many places of music and gigs, Robert decided to teach himself
to be an artist and painter.
In 1993 he moved to Florida and began his new career by reading and practicing with the pencils inks, watercolours and acrylics paints. Within six months he was exhibiting his original art in public at libraries in June 1994. Robert began to send art and prints to museums and people around the world, including the astronaut, senator John Glenn, actor Paul Newman, world champion Phil Hill, homerun king Hank Aaron, H.R.H. Prince Ranier of Monaco, the National Motor Museum in the United Kingdom, the Indianapolis Motor Speedway Hall of Fame Museum, The Ted Williams baseball Hall of Fame and Museum.
Robert has use his art to raise funds for the American Red Cross, Hospice, and many others
to help by using his art. He is continuously involved in these donations each year.
In 2009, Robert opened his first Gallery in Vero Beach, Florida. With customers in America
and around the world via Internet, his art and prints hang all over the world.
In January 2012 Robert moved to Turin, Italy to be with his fiancé, the artist Maria Luisa Pastore. Robert continues his art and his music in this new land and looks for more challenging and creative endeavors which lie ahead.
