Bushmills Distillery, located in County Antrim, Northern Ireland, is renowned for being the oldest licensed whiskey distillery in the world. It was granted its license to distill in 1608 by King James I, although the actual establishment of the distillery as we know it today occurred in 1784.

Currently, the distillery operates ten copper pot stills, allowing for an annual production of approximately 4.5 million liters of spirit. As a single malt distillery, it has employed triple distillation since at least the 1930s, if not earlier. Today, it utilizes a blend of unpeated and lightly-peated malt. The aging process predominantly occurs in a combination of ex-bourbon and oloroso sherry casks, along with some unique options like Madeira, Port, and rum casks.

Our Story

The idea for our store came about nearly a year ago when two brothers from Ireland, both whiskey enthusiasts, were casually discussing the craft spirits revolution that was taking place in Ireland. With backgrounds in tech and retail, we started wondering how we could join the Irish spirits revolution. We knew that Irish spirits are gaining good traction at home in Ireland but spreading these drinks to further away lands was our destiny. This is why we set up IrishMalts.com in the United Kingdom and can offer next day delivery to mainland UK at great cost. Oh and did we mention we also ship to 31 countries, at some of the best delivery prices on the market.

Not forgetting our roots we ship to Ireland with a 2 day transit time and although based in the United Kingdom, we have worked hard to bring the home of Irish Whiskey a decent combined price for product and delivery, which alot of the time can work out cheaper than other big Irish sites offering the same products.
