For the festive season, Irishmalts has released three new Whiskeys - Mistletoe Malt, The Christmas Blend and the highly sought after Goleen Gold 21 Year Old Irish

ONE WEEK to go until Episode FORTY-NINE!

The penultimate episode of 2024, and we are delighted to have a wonderful lineup for this month’s lineup. Our drams for this month include Grace O’Malley Maritime Cask, Jack Ryan Single Grain, and St.Patrick’s 10 Year Old Sherry Cask Finish.

We will be discussing these drops on our live along with experts from each brand. They will be on hand to answer any questions you may have about the whiskeys. The event will be hosted by the one and only

Episode FORTY EIGHT - Dram 3 - WD O’Connell Small Batch Fino Sherry

The final Dram of this month’s box is WD O’Connell Small Batch Fino Sherry. Mark Lonergan will be joining us to discuss this release. This Irish whiskey is layered and intricate, overflowing with rich flavors. Distilled in 2018 at Great Northern Distillery, this small batch release has matured in ex-bourbon casks and completed its aging process in fino sherry wine casks. Bottled at 50%, it is truly a remarkable whiskey.

Episode FORTY FIVE - Dram 3 - Blackwater Irish Whiskey ‘The Full Irish’

‘One of the most interesting whiskeys unveiled at Whiskey Live 2024. This release from Blackwater Distillery showcases the 3 styles of Irish whiskey – grain, single malt and pot still.’ Irish Whiskey Magazine

We are joined by Peter Mulryan, founder & CEO of to chat about this brand new limited edition release. 45% Blackwater produced single malt, 45% Blackwater produced pot still (both five years old) and 10% seven-year-old grain whiskies, finished in stout casks from local Hopfully Brewing Company.

Episode FORTY FIVE - Dram 2 - Shortcross 7yo Peated Single Malt Cognac & Orange Liqueur Cask

This whiskey has been proudly distilled, matured and bottled at Rademon Estate Distillery in County Down. Matured exclusively in casks that had previously held a Cognac & Orange Liqueur for a minimum of 7 years before being carefully blended together by Shortcross' Director of Distilling & Blending David Boyd- Armstrong. This is the first time that this cask type has been used in the Irish whiskey industry, if not anywhere in the world of whiskey, making this a truly unique expression.

Episode FORTY Four - Dram 3 - Killowen Rum Raisin

Brand Ambassador at Killowen Distillery, Shenda O'Hare along with her colleague Sinead, joins us to discuss this 5-year-old single malt whiskey. This stellar release is finished in Killowen's own Rum casks and PX sherry casks to give an amazing flavour profile that delivers long into the nose pallet and finish.

Episode FORTY Four - Dram 2 - Hinch Craft & Cask

This whiskey is a limited release of Hinch whiskey aged in casks that previously held Whitewater Brewery’s Imperial Stout. It represents the perfect harmony between two iconic Irish traditions: whisky and beer. This fusion of expertise has resulted in a product with a unique flavour profile and who better to experience this dram with than Hinch Distillery Brand Ambassador, Terry McCartan!

Episode FORTY THREE - Dram 3 - Whiskey Hlymrekr Saga Danish Rye

Founder of Thomond Gate Whiskey Nick Ryan joins us to discuss this limited edition viking-inspired whiskey. What makes this whiskey special, is the floor malted Danish Barley and Rye, this is then distilled using Copper Pot Stills with direct heat and cooled with a worm coil condenser, this gives the whiskey a wonderful character expressed in layers of flavors.

This whiskey is made from 100% Irish malted barley and is initially matured in first fill ex-bourbon American oak barrels before being finished in Atlantic Wakame seaweed charred virgin American oak casks and who better to experience this dram with than founder of Origin Spirits Patrick Shelley!
