Opened in July 2011, Baggot Street Wines is 100% Irish, and proud to be your local, independent wine, beer and whiskey specialist. Our passionate staff have over 15 years experience in the European wine industry and have been known to enjoy the odd glass or two. Also well accustomed to the pleasure of a tasty beer, we are delighted to have been awarded the title of 'National Beer Specialist of the

Year' for two consecutive years, both 2013 and 2014, in the National Off Licence of the Year Awards. We are also proud to have been awarded their 'Certificates of Excellence' for the same years and most recently in January 2015. We truly do strive to give the best customer service and were acknowledged as doing so in the 'Best Service' category of this year's long-list in the Irish Times' hunt for the 'Best Shops in Ireland'.

14 years ago today we picked up the keys for Baggot Street Wines to start an amazing journey as your local wine shop!
At the time myself Garret, my father Shay, Catherine and Alison flung the doors open from the then closed down Oddbins store and packed it full of amazing wines and got the doors open again to continue on a 75 year history since 1950 of a local wine store at 17 upper Baggot St!
We’re still here and excited to celebrate 14 years as Baggot Street Wines and Spirits and 75 years as your local wine shop!

Did you know that Baggot Street Wines are heading into our 15th since we set up in July 2011 as YOUR local wine shop!

However we’re only guardians of a proud history at 17 Upper Baggot St stretching from

1950-72 Gilbeys Wine Shop

1972-97 Farm Produce (see pic)

1997-2011 Oddbins

2011-24 Baggot Street Wines

We’ve always been so proud to be your local wine shop for the last 14 years. Through the difficult times, be they be recessions or a pandemic, we’re still here and are so so grateful for all of your support.
