🍀 Whiskey of the Week: Midleton 2020 🍀
👃 On the nose, you’ll find sweet cane sugar, vanilla, a hint of pepper and nutmeg, with fruity and chocolatey notes over antique wood.
👅 The taste is a burst of orange peel and sweet pear, with some mild chili oil spice. The charred oak gives it a perfect balance. The finish is long and satisfying, with the fruits fading and the oak and spices lingering.
🥃 This whiskey became an instant classic and sold out super fast. We managed to get a few bottles from auctions in Germany and Belgium.
Don’t miss your chance to grab one! ✨

Wine🍷: Les Tourelles de Longueville 2016
Region🌎: Pauillac in Bordeaux 🇫🇷, the second wine from the famous 2nd growth Chateau Pichon Baron.
🍇 About the Estate 🍇
The Pichon Baron estate has an illustrious history having been established in 1694 by Baron Jacques Pichon de Longueville from a plot of vines close to Latour originally bought by Pierre Dezmesures de Rauzan. These formed part of his daughter’s dowry when she married the Baron. The estate remained in the same family for generations until 1933 before finally being sold to and modernised by AXA Millesimes in 1987.
🍷About the Wine🍷
The name Tourelles de Longueville refers to the 2 turrets which are a distinguishing feature of the imposing Chateau inspired by Renaissance architecture and constructed in 1851.
The 2016 vintage was characterised by widely varying weather conditions, with a wet winter, damp spring and hot, dry summer. By the September harvest, the fruit had reached excellent ripeness levels.
The wine is composed of 58% Merlot, 25% Cabernet Sauvignon, 12% Cabernet Franc and 5% Petit Verdot aged for 12 months in French Oak, 30% of which is new. It has an intense deep ruby colour and reveals notes of fresh red and black fruit along with touches of cream, aniseed, turned earth and cigar-box giving the unmistakable character of fine Pauillac.
