Journeyed back to the 80s with the 1989 Robert Arnoux Romanee Saint Vivant, crafted by the last generation before Charles Lachaux’s era. On opening, the cork had some mold, and the initial aromas were dull and puzzling. Yet, with patience, the wine gradually awoke from its decades-long slumber, shedding its initial reserve to reveal a symphony of rich, concentrated berry aromas, earthy spices, and the unmistakable umami of truffles. The palate was full-bodied and smooth, exuding elegance and making each sip a truly enjoyable experience that left us craving more.

When I popped open the bottle, I was greeted by that classic, big velvety Rousseau nose.... it's just so lush and fragrant! I let the bottle breathe for 2 hours, then watched it come alive in my glass. Take your time with it and you'll notice how the flavours build up in a really smooth and enjoyable way. Perfectly balanced. The Rousseau Charmes is a masterpiece by Eric Rousseau.

Its been a while since we last had a Grange🍷The 1999 quietly impresses with nuanced aromas of black cherry and plum, subtly integrated oak, and a full-bodied yet remarkably poised structure. Its a wine that requires patience. Still vibrant, with promising longevity. A reminder of Grange‘s enduring quality!

Ponsot once produced Griotte Chambertin, but with the last vintage made in 2015, the wines are no longer available. As the smallest Grand Cru vineyard in the village, Griotte is nestled between Chambertin and Clos de Beze. Unlike the bold and powerful style typical of Gevrey wines, Ponsot’s Griotte is more delicate and elegant. With a smooth texture developed over more than 20 years of aging, it offers rich aromas and reveals lovely, subtle mineral notes. After decanting for about 3-4 hours, it showcases the extraordinary charm of Ponsot's natural winemaking approach.

An absolute delight to taste the 2014 Domaine Leflaive Bienvenues Batard Montrachet🤩 It dazzles with a bright, pale lemon colour and exudes refreshing aromas of ripe white peach, lemon, honey, delicate vanilla, and a hint of white pepper. This wine delivers a smooth, balanced palate with a pleasant acidity and a memorable finish.

The grapes used in crafting this wine come from vines planted back in 1958 and 1959, boasting over six decades of maturity! If you're craving for a Burgundy white but not sure where to begin your journey, let this bottle be the perfect starting point for your exploration!

Liger Belair never let us down😋 Our recent bottle of Vosne Romanee La Colombiere 2019 boasts a mature aroma of cherries, red plums, and strawberries. With hints of cinnamon, vanilla, chocolate, and earthiness, it was singing with our dinner throughout the night.

The vineyard situated near the famous Grand Cru vineyards Romane Conti and Romanee Saint Vivant. It benefits from rich silt and clay, resulting in wines with a delightful blend of fresh, sweet berry flavors and a smooth, rounded texture. According to Liger Belair's official website, in 2017, 30% of the vines in this vineyard were an impressive 92 years old, another 30% were 72 years old, and the remaining 40% had an average age of 52 years. With only 10 barrels produced each year, approximately 3,000 bottles, this village-level vineyard exceeds all expectations👍

An unforgettable evening with lingering essence of Bordeaux😋 Blown away by the La Mission Haut Brion 1975 which still bursts plenty of fruit, and well blended with smoky, to***co, and leather aromas👍🏻 The 1996 and Mouton 1997 are at their prime to enjoy. Just pop and pour, these expertly aged Left Bank wines are now gracing your table🍽🍷

What a delectable pairing with Taiwanese cuisine🍷🥂😋 We savored the flavors of apple, apricot, and nuts as they filled our glasses with the Lafon Meursault Desiree 2002. It was refreshing, yet beautifully balanced and structured, complementing the cold platters perfectly. The 2013 Vougeot from Meo, initially nuanced on the nose but tight on the palate, evolved into a smooth and soft palate with notes of cranberry and pomegranate during dinner. This is our second time enjoying the Vougeot, and it continues to impress with its exceptional aging potential👍
