The Château La Négly, La Porte du Ciel 2018 is a sumptuous, full-bodied Syrah from Languedoc with remarkable depth and complexity. It pours an inky purple and exudes intense aromas of blackberry, black cherry, and plum, accompanied by notes of lavender, licorice, and subtle smoked meat. On the palate, it’s rich and velvety, with well-integrated tannins and vibrant acidity that highlight layers of dark fruit, spice, and earthy minerality. The finish is exceptionally long, with a refined balance that lends elegance to its powerful character. Ideal with slow-cooked meats, braised dishes, or aged cheeses.

"Tasted out of barrel, the 2018 Coteaux Du Languedoc La Clape Porte Du Ciel is all Syrah coming from a single parcel of vines in the La Clape AOC that was planted in the early 1990s. Always brought up in new French oak, its dense purple color is followed by a world class bouquet of crème de cassis, olive tapenade, licorice, iodine, smoked meats, and baking spices. Incredibly complex, full-bodied, and concentrated, it shows the softer, more charming style of the vintage, has no hard edges, flawless balance, and incredible length. It’s another magical wine from this estate I wish every reader could taste!"
