Giving back to local communities this Easter 🐣

This Easter, the Security Teams across the CBRE portfolio wanted to give back in a meaningful way.

The team organised a collection of over 200 Easter Egg and over 135 colouring books, games, pens and pencils to put smiles on young faces. These were all donated to Little Havens, Benfleet and Queens Hospital Romford, park of the Barking, Havering and Redbridge NHS trust.

The recipients were overwhelmed by our generosity, and the small part we played in making a child’s stay in a hospice and hospital that little bit brighter!

Spreading awareness this Austim Awareness Month 💙

This week, members of the Wilson James’ Disability Network visited two of our sites, Disney and Meta to help raise awareness for Autism Awareness Month and spotlight the amazing people networks across Wilson James. It was a great opportunity to connect with our frontline teams and spark meaningful conversations, and gift some fidget spinners which definitely helped break the ice!

Security Skills Board Initiative 🔐

Last week the Security Skills Board Initiative had the kick off session for their new program, and Wilson James are pleased to announce they have 3 colleagues on the first cohort: Laura Cardoso, Rakim Esmaill and Hayfa Ali. The Cohort has a total of 21 individuals from across the security industry and is a 12-month programme to gain a CMI Level 3 Coaching & Mentoring, as part of the program they will be doing job fairs, school talks and job centres to attract people to work in security!

Our very own Rosa Osman, Director People Development is a Board Sponsor and said ‘ This is a fantastic example of the industry coming together and we are happy to have three Wilson James team members on the very first cohort. It is a great opportunity for the team to be ambassadors of the security sector while upskilling themselves and gaining their mentoring qualification. I’m excited to follow their journey ahead.’

Lunch of the Month at Hinkley Point C 🏗️

Every month the Hinkley Point C team put on a lunch for the team or individual that has shown outstanding Wilson James Values.

This month was for Sam Parsons, Plant & Fleet for ensuring high standards in PVPI management & people segregation, and also for Jake Clapp and Connor Webster from the buildings team, who have shown great leadership in their team and received positive feedback from MEH for their standard of work.

Every year, the 21st March marks World Down Syndrome Day, a global opportunity to raise awareness and celebrate diversity.

At Wilson James, we’re always looking for meaningful ways to elevate inclusion. This year, we proudly supported Lots of Socks; a fun and engaging campaign designed to spark conversations and celebrate what makes us all unique.

Colleagues throughout the business stepped out in their brightest, boldest, most brilliant socks to help raise awareness about Down syndrome and show support for a more inclusive future.

Congratulations to our 2025 Leadership Academy Graduates 🎓

Over the past nine months, a fantastic group of future leaders have been on a journey of growth and self discovery through our Leadership Academy programme. Through training, coaching, and mentorship they have honed their skills as they worked together to develop innovative solutions to real-world business challenges, all while stepping outside their comfort zones.
Yesterday, the group delivered powerful presentations to our Executive Board, where they shared forward-thinking proposals - ranging from further embedding sustainability into our growth strategy, to digitising Staff Welfare and Development Reports.

What a way to celebrate National Careers Week ✈️

We are proud to have joined at their careers fair, which brought together over 1,000 candidates exploring the potential for exciting careers at the airport. From inspiring conversations to on-the-spot job offers and interview opportunities, the fair provided a great platform for local jobseekers to meet with partners and we enjoyed the conversations about the diverse opportunities with at Heathrow.

LGBT+ History Month 🏳️‍🌈

This February the LGBT+ People Network chose to create a book club and read Charlie Kiss’ memoir A New Man to honour LGBT+ History Month. Charlie was highlighted as one of five LGBT historical figures who represented this year’s theme: Activism and Social Change.

The network delved into some critical theories of feminist/queer literature which provided a framework through which they could analyse some of Charlie’s recounted experiences. It was an engaging session which encouraged new and different ways of thinking about the lived experiences of members of the LGBT+ community and their portrayal in literature/media from the mid 20th century up until the present.

Congratulations to Paul Knight, WLCC Manager for receiving his 20 Year Long Service Award.

Paul started with Wilson James during the construction of Heathrow Terminal 5, working initially as a labourer within our construction logistics team. He showed enthusiasm and commitment to the project and progressed through the ranks doing a variety of roles on the way! Paul now oversees operations at our West London Consolidation Centre, a fully carbon neutral and DfT secure warehouse that supports central London and airport projects with efficient and sustainable logistics solutions.

This is a fantastic achievement showing loyalty and dedication to Wilson James. Thank you, Paul, for continuing to bring a smile and a hard work to all the roles you have been in. Here’s to 20 more years! Paul was presented his award by Frank Webster, Director – Construction Logistics.

Well done to James Greenwood, Corporate Security Officer for receiving a Silver Extra Mile Award.

James performed CPR to a male on site after calling for assistance and a defibrillator, he made sure to carry on until the emergency services arrived where he then assisted in controlling the area.

Thank you James for stepping into action in a hard and stressful situation, we at Wilson James are proud to have people like you on site. He was presented his award by Mark Booth, Regional Operations Manager.
