Blanc du Grappin: 100% Roussanne from Côtes du Rhône. Bright, floral and increased texture from 5 months lees ageing.
A family association with the Italian 🇮🇹 railways or to ‘drink-drink’. Take your pick.
A blend of Passerina, Pecorino + Trebbiano from the Marche. Not certified organic but organic practices are followed; manual harvest and no fining.
Same wine when filled in bottle is released as DOP, a higher classification + at a higher price 💶👆
Fresh & moreish with apple pulp, pear + floral notes.
Fresh BIB on the block.
A blend of 60% Sangiovese + 40% Ciliegiolo.
Precise bright fresh cherry fruits, good tannic structure and acidity.

Fabulous new wine from Du Grappin the original purveyors of the .
Bourgogne-Aligote, the second white grape from Burgundy, is now a bagnum option as Emma + Andrew have increased winery space. Great news all round. 👌
‘From the vineyard ‘Les Enceints’ , 380m above sea level. The vines face due south and as such reach full maturity, with the high altitude ensuring the grapes stay fresh at night, preserving acidity. The soil here is decomposed granite, leading to grapes with a generosity to balance the natural zip of Aligote.
Hand harvested, foot crushed + basket pressed to pick up structure, grip + reductive potential. Natural fermentation with no additions, temperature control or SO2. The wine sits for 9 months on full lees and is filled after a light filtration’ 🙏
A lip smacking aperitif or with seafood; acidity very much present, tangy citrus + nettles.

Hope springs eternal as possibly the longest January EVER finally draws to a close.

An intense, rich, golden orange from Corbieres, plenty of bang for your buck + super food versatile. The (one of many) beauties of BIBS is that you can ease yourself in gently with as small a glass as you fancy knowing the wine will keep for a month…..or just go for your life, Spring is on the way!
The Rouge is a very moreish 12.5% Cab Franc from the Loire. A red cherry crunch delight + hint of pencil shavings + pleasant amount of tannic grip + super juicy +++

Fête de Beaujolais, the celebration of the very first wines of the year’s harvest, held on the third Thursday of November, so 16.11.23 this year. 100% Gamay, fresh, easy, juicy, joyful.
Our pal Kirsty from the wonderful Dalston (which has championed alternative format wine for YEARS) has sniffed out a fabulous Beaujolais Nouveau (or should this be Beaujolais primeur?) this year and we are delighted to have a small allocation to share with you.
The winemaker of the ‘Sourire’ is Maxime Troncy, the latest generation to work the family winery, located in Cogny in the southern half of the broader Beaujolais region. The ‘Sourire’ cuvees are wines for pleasure, conviviality and for sharing.
The ‘Sourire’ Nouveau 23 has quite a bit of depth (for a Nouveau!!) but still powered with loads of red fruit + a bright acidity. Grab some saucisson sec, terrine, white rind cheeses, a simple supper and enjoy.

Vincent Lacoste shifted to organic viticulture in 2005. Wines are now made naturally with gentle extraction and are organically certified.
Predominantly Merlot with a dash of Cabernet Franc. Wild yeast fermentation and no further pressing minimises tannic structure. No fining, no filtration and low added sulphites. Juicy redcurrants, blackcurrants, sloes; youthful acidity and an easy charm.

Did you know that from today ALL stockists of wine in glass bottles also need to have registered with their local authority?
Thankfully you can swerve this particular bit of Rish! inspired red tape by ditching those glass bottles, as under the new scheme bag in box wine; pouch wine and canned wine are all EXEMPT.
Jeremy is after your cellar too. From September all individuals with a cellar of >20 cases must also register or have a low paid minion do this for you.
