South West Orchards, like all our Ciders is beautifully British from pip to pint 🍏🍎

Our South West Orchards Modern Craft Cider is made with a blend of the finest West Country Cider apples, such as Yarlington Mill, Harry’s Master and Dabinett, plus a small amount of dessert apple to give the cider a fruity bite. The cider is fermented under ambient conditions, and then allowed to mature for at least three months.

Produced by artisan cider maker Sheppy’s, they are the oldest family run cider making business, with a very modern focus on natural ingredients and environmentally sustainable production.

Our South West Orchards cider has a high juice content, and isn’t made from concentrate like to so many other commercial ciders, which helps to produce the high-quality well-balanced cider that is South West Orchards.

🍺 Cider is in demand, especially in the Summer and our Appleshed Premium Cider and Dark Fruits deserve Cider taps on every bar.

Made by 5th generation family Cider makers in Hereford who combine traditional cider-making with modern-day technology, our Appleshed Cider is made with apples from within the family’s 340 acre orchard, and from their 350 local growers. Once pressed, the juice from these locally sourced apples spends a minimum of 3 months in oak vats to produce the natural vibrant liquid enjoyed by consumers.

☀️ The weather is warming up, which means prime Cider drinking season. Cider sales peak between June and September, and with 1 in 2 cider drinkers only drinking cider in the summer, now is the time to maximise cider sales while the sun shines

Top tips: With almost 4 in 5 serves of Cider on draught, an Apple Cider and flavoured Berry option on a second Cider tap, will help boost sales.

But don't forget about bottles, as bottled cider is a strong performer to. Filling up fridges with bottled Cider is a surefire way to bottle success.

According to the latest CGA data, the demand for Stout and World Lager is on the rise 🚀

Value share for Stout is at an impressive 13.5% within the Draught Beer and Cider category, highlighting the importance of a stout tap on every bar. While World Lager continues to hold the largest value share within the Draught Beer and Cider category at 22.5%, and remains an essential tap.

Let's talk tequila! 🇲🇽

Tequila is climbing towards dominance in the spirits market. According to the latest CGA Data, tequila liqueurs are the only spirits category in double-digit growth 📈

The Super Premium Tequila category continues to see volume growth in the on-premise, which is up +4.6%. Additionally tequila was the only spirit which saw sales and value rise in Britain last year, with its market value jumping from £24m in 2022 to £35m in 2023.

Our expanding portfolio of tequila brands ensures there is something for both connoisseurs and casual drinkers alike, across on-trade venues. Salud! 🍸

We’re thrilled to announce that our Signature Brand Old J Spiced Rum is a multi award winner at this year's The Spirits Business Rum & Cachaça Awards! Our Tiki Fire, Pineapple, Spiced and Cherry flavours all came in on top, scoring gold across their respective categories 🥇. With our Gold and Dark variants being awarded the silver medal in their categories🥈.

CGA’s recent research in the on-trade hospitality market highlights a 6% spike in people ordering tequila-based drinks, just since September 2023!

Following our inaugural Brand Activation Manager cocktail competition this week, we caught up with it's winner, Ralph Mizen about his winning entry. Appropriately titled “Dance the night away”, its pulls inspiration from Dua Lipa's hit song from the Barbie movie.

Featuring Agnes Arber rhubarb gin, Raspberry Syrup, Hand-made Citrus Milk Punch, finally topped with Prosecco and the secret ingredient, edible glitter. Ralph said about his winning entry, "The idea was to re-imagine disco drinks, inspired by Dua Lipa’s modern take on Disco itself. Embracing bold and brash colours, eccentricity and expression of self, pioneered by Disco in the 70’s."

A worthy winner and a delightful drink, congratulations again Ralph!

Last night we were lucky enough to be joined by 16 our Brand Activation Managers from across the UK, for our inaugural Brand Activation Manager cocktail competition and awards evening! With everyone bringing their A game, it was a night to be remembered. With a bevy of exciting and exotic cocktails, featuring our Signature Brands spirits Old J, Agnes Arber, as well as a sneak peak of a new spirit, coming soon.
