Today is International Day of Awareness of Food Loss and Waste. The goal is to raise awareness to the importance of the problem and its possible solutions at all levels, to halve per capita global food waste at the retail and consumer level by 2030, and reduce food losses along the food production and supply chains.

During the Store Of Excellence contest our visits to the stores highlighted some individuals that we wanted to recognise further. Their contribution to the business deserves to be acknowledged and so they will each be presented with some vouchers to show our appreciation for the job they do.

Two of these individuals are featured today. They are Amanda from Strensall and Robyn from Great Glen.

Second place in our prestigious Store of Excellence award 2023 goes to Gary, Gill and the team at BARMOOR. 🥳🥳

It really was a hotly contested competition this year, so much so that we needed a second round of judging to decide on the overall winner and these guys were very close runners up!

Yesterday the field operations team and some team members from maintenance were put through their paces on all things tanker and fuel related! It was a fantastic session that added real value for everyone who participated. Thanks to Kev and Kearon from Par Petroleum Ltd for making the session so interesting and a huge thank you to Emma Shell for organising the day with the team at Par.
Penny Petroleum and Par Petroleum have been long standing partners over the years and we would also like to thank them for their continued support.

It's a pleasure to announce, after much deliberation, that the prestigious Store of Excellence award 2023 goes to,
Drum roll please...

Meg, Alexandra and the team at CROWN🥳🥳🥳

It was a really close competition this year so much so that we needed a second round of judging to decide the overall winner!
We'll announce second place next week (so watch this space!).
A special shoutout also goes to the judging team who travelled 1000’s of miles and ticked hundreds of boxes in such a short time frame!

Thank you to all the stores and well done on making this so difficult to judge. You are all winners.
