I don’t think I’ll ever not get excited about finding the perfect piece of seaglass. These green jelly tots were probably bottle bases that have just got more and worn as they’ve been taken on an adventure by the ocean. “Sea gems” are beautiful and are, of course, environmentally friendly - no digging up the planet for these. Mother Nature just regurgitates them to those who pay attention. 💚 The necklace was a commission but this gorgeous ring is available. Sterling silver, size R and a half, £47.50.

Most definitely Finest Green. 💚 Finally got my leafy organza curtain up in the Artemis window with this wonderful huge mandala by forming a showstopper in the new contained space. This photo was taken at night with the shop lights out and it looks amazing. During the day, however, I need to figure out a way of making it more obvious. I was sooooo happy that the colours and patterns of the curtain and mandala were so complementary I didn’t realise this beautiful artwork would actually almost disappear in daylight. Ah well, the best laid plans. It looks spectacular on a white wall so I expect I’ll end up hanging something white behind it. Oh and this beauty is for sale. 💚

Happy St Patrick’s Day. ☘️ We had lots of fun picking out green things to photograph this morning. What a selection… from jewellery to jewellery-making, crocheted critters to yarn and beads, wonderful unique artisan pieces like the handmade Mr Hyde marionette and the huge hand crocheted mandala, gemstones and crystals, 3D printed dragons and lobster knockers! 💚 The last image is an organza curtain ready to be hung in the Artemis window. 💚

The sun’s out and it’s a super sparkly Sunday here in Ventnor. We’re open until 4pm today. Our sparkles include jewellery, scarves and shawls, a beautiful hand decorated mirror, a super sparkly skull artwork, Swarovski cufflinks and other earrings and pendants, handmade lamps and lots of gemstones and crystals. We’re open tomorrow then closed Tuesday and Wednesday. 😎

Really proud of this one. Malachite pendant with decorative beaded bezel and handmade silver clay embellishment (using a shot plate from ). The pendant has also got some patina to really show off the depth of the layers. I’ve popped it on an 18” ball chain to complement the beaded bezel but that can be changed of course. This one-off pendant is £56, the chain £13.50 and you save 10% by buying the two together (£62.55). 💚

Whilst wandering with between Bonchurch and Luccombe, I found these two lovely little ammonites. 🖤 I used silver clay to cast directly onto the fossils, allowed it to dry, fired it then applied a little patina. I’m thrilled with how these turned out. If you fancy a genuine Isle of Wight ammonite necklace the little pendant is £27.50 (on a £14.50 chain if you would like it) and the larger one is £37.50 (with a £19.99 chain). I hope you like these as much as I do. There will be more! 🖤

I got a notification last night to say Alexander James Photography had uploaded a new photo to our Google profile. Look who it was! 😍 Whilst on the page I spotted an AI generated summary of the shop which mentioned “the friendly and knowledgeable staff”, “the shop’s quirky and delightful atmosphere” and, no surprise, “the adorable dog who greets visitors.” I’m not a big fan of AI but I’m loving that!!! Thanks team! 🥰

Fab day off yesterday wandering around Shanklin and ending up at for a chat with the very helpful and knowledgeable Aaron. Made a couple of little purchases and admired the shop’s newest installations. What a fantastic and fun place to shop for fossils. Don’t miss Jurassic Jim’s on Shanklin High Street when you’re on the island. 🦕

March’s birthstone is the gorgeous AQUAMARINE. 🩵 Blue, green, transparent and opaque, the quality - and price - varies greatly. Our window display contains these lovely pieces… all beautiful aquamarine except the last little studs which are Swarovski crystal.
The names derived from the Latin “aqua marinus” meaning “water of the sea”. Aquamarine embodies everything to do with the sea. Ancient lore says it protects those who travel over, by or near water. It is also a stone of communication, meditation, quiet courage, justice, eternal youth and happiness. If you fancy a bit of that in your life our aquamarine tumblies are just £2.95 each. 🩵

Who loves dragons? 💜 Mac and Lily’s Island Crafts have brought us a few darker dragons to keep the paler guys company. We’ve been asked for deeper colours so delighted to have these in stock. Well, three left, one sold later on delivery day. 😂 We also have two fabulous large articulated rainbow-coloured snakes who told us their names are “Benjamin Bobbly Butt“ and “Bert Bumpy Butt”. Honest. Crystal dragons and snakes are 3D printed using eco-friendly organic plastic (PLA) and cost £20 each. The shop is open today until 4pm and tomorrow 10.30am to 5pm if you’re in Ventnor. ☺️

How absolutely gorgeous does Amelie look in this fabulous gemstone beaded tiara handmade by The Wire Witch?! It’s crammed full of lovely gemstone beads including garnets, labradorite, black pearls, black onyx, black spinels and chrome diopside. A unique piece which went home with the loveliest new owner. ❤️🖤🩶💚

New collection of Ventnor, Luccombe and Isle of Wight fossils and finds. These are pieces that the shop gang have picked up on dog walks and adventures. You won’t find anything museum worthy in this drawer but there are lots of little bargains to be had from 50p to £4. Ideal souvenirs if you went fossil hunting but were not lucky. Bits of ammonites including cat’s paws, fossil shells and wood, urchins and pyrites. How good do these look in these eco-friendly 3D printed PLA trays supplied by Unicorn Man?! ☺️
