November's Mead of the Month is Tyr's Mead, a wild fermentation of Ukrainian wildflower honey, Vitex honey and fresh orange juice. It will be joined by the ever-popular spiced Krampus' Mead, a mead with more flavour and spices than you can shake a cinnamon stick at.

October's Mead of the Month will be the Yggdrasil mead from the Afon Mêl Meadery in Wales. Made with forest honey, this light pure honey mead will be available to sample and buy at the stall throughout this month. It will be available on the website following the first tasting at the Stockbridge Market in Edinburgh this Sunday.

Remember the meads I put on last winter based on donated cappings? Well, I finally bottled them. West Lothian wildflower honey on the left and Tay Valley wildflower honey on the right. Quite a difference! 8 months on and still cloudy. Huge cat for scale.

Say hello to the latest Mead of the Month! The Rookery's Wild Cherry Mead is fermented with cherries foraged in Perthshire. The flavour is not one of heavy sweetness, but instead a full tartness followed by dry fruity and marzipan notes. It will be on the website once I have finished the market (and the quality control process).

At Stockbridge today with June's mead of the month, the Rookery Wildflower Mead. Fermented with assorted wildflowers foraged in Perthshire, this mead is unsurprisingly floral, but also has what can only be described as a "green" botanical note.
Also a shout-out to now-favourite customer Mika, who stopped by with a wonderful bottle of whisky cask matured American mead. It will be savoured!

I will NOT be at the Grassmarket this coming weekend! Instead, I will be peddling my wares (read: gawping at the jousting) at the Traquair Medieval Fayre. From 11AM to 5PM on both days, this is a yearly tradition now. Not only does the weather look to be amazing (touch wood), but I will be providing a sneak peek of June's Mead of the Month!

Bit of a good news, bad news, good news today. Good news is that I will be bringing May's Mead of the Month to Stockbridge tomorrow (5th May). There will of course be tasters. The bad news is that I can no longer hold back the tides of inflation (and a seemingly rocketing price of glassware) and will have to raise some prices on the Nidhoggr, Lancashire Mead Co., and Afon Mêl bottles, generally by about £5. The final good news is that prices will go up AFTER tomorrow's market, so for those of you who read this far, May the fourth be with you!
