Alright folks, Fraser here! This week, I've gone for something a little different from my usual, but trust me, it's a corker: the El Bos Tinta de Toro 2021.
I appreciate a wine that keeps things interesting, and this one certainly does. It's got that wonderful deep, brooding fruit that grabs your attention, but it's not heavy-handed. You get a lovely bit of spice too, which really gets those taste buds tingling. It's got plenty of oomph without being overpowering, which is exactly what I look for.
This one's brilliant on its own, but it'll stand up to a good barbecue or a hearty weeknight dinner no problem. Give it a whirl – I reckon you'll be as chuffed with it as I am!

I know we’re into the summer, but a good Rioja Crianza like this still works for me. It’s all about the balance – bright, juicy fruit backed up by a bit of oak ageing that brings warmth and structure without weighing it down. I love a barbecue red, but it’s got to stay light on its feet, and this is just the ticket. It’s great with grilled meats, charred peppers, or anything smoky off the coals. Full of flavour, nicely judged, and excellent value – it’s a firm favourite for me.
