Our very own Lily Bingham-Davis of Baked at Lily’s fame, is running a marathon this month for charity.

Lily never asks for anything so thought it would be nice to post this here, see if anyone that has had the pleasure of being served by Lily or tried one of her bakes would like to donate. 💚

I'm raising money for Prostate Cancer UK by taking part in Run the Month: Marathon Edition in January.

This has only taken us 5 years (things move slowly at The Green Shop!) but finally we've managed to get an online shop with pick up and deliveries available.

We have curated boxes for breakfasts, veg or fruit for ease, that can be ordered for a Friday pick up or delivery. This can be set as a weekly/fortnightly order or just as a one off.

There is also an option to build your own box with plenty of our fantastic local suppliers featured (the selection will grow over time)

S6 Foodbank Hillsborough Green Party outside the shop today (25/01) from 10-12.

Hillsborough Greens will be doing another street collection for S6 Foodbank on Saturday January 25th from 10am to 12 noon at The Green Shop, Wadsley Lane. Councillor Christine Gilligan Kubo will be available for any enquiries from local residents.

If you've got a spare £5 and would like to support us, here are 4️⃣ everyday basic foods that we're always in need of across our foodbank network:

🥕 tinned vegetables, such as carrots, peas, and potatoes
🍋 tinned fruit, such as peaches, mandarins, and cherries
🐟 tinned fish, such as tuna, mackerel, or salmon
🥫 tinned deserts, such as rice pudding or custard

10am - 2pm New year's day. Then back to usual hours.

To allow the guys to have a proper break and enjoy New Year's we are closing today at 5pm.

We are fully stocked so make sure you get down before 5.

Open 10-2 New Years Day, pop down and see Lily with a hangover!

Great work by S6 Foodbank and Hillsborough Green Party this year, thanks for all their hard work.

If you don't know we have a street collection for the S6 food bank outside the shop on the 4th Saturday of every month. Where food, essentials and cash donations can be made.

Thanks to everyone who thought of others during 2024 and donated so generously to S6 Foodbank at our monthly street collections at The Green Shop on Wadsley Lane The total donation weight was 3072 kilograms which is 7315 meals. Plus cash donations of around £1200.

Our collections will continue during 2025 on 4th Saturdays of the month from 10am to 12noon. The Green Shop also has a basket where smaller donations can be left at any time.

You can donate with gift aid on the S6 Foodbank website to help many households struggling through this winter. They do amazing work throughout the city - your donations make a real difference.
