Colosseum Wines is a family business selling quality Italian wines imported directly from small, family-run vineyards since 2007.
Our founder, Max Scacchi, is from Italy. Following the death of his mother when he was just two years old, Max moved to live on his grandparents’ farm near Milan. To escape the bustle of the farm he would spend hours in their small vineyard where his love of wine grew.
He said: “The farm was full of cows, pigs, ducks, rabbits etc. but what I loved the most was my grandfather’s vineyard. I would sit and try to figure out how a single grape, which was food to me at that time, could be transformed into a bottle of wine. I was, and still am, fascinated by the process.
Max has now many years of experience working in the wine industry, he has built relationships with producers from across his home country. He seeks out the best specialist vineyards that produce a limited number of bottles each year. This means that any wine you buy from us has been handpicked and is exclusive to Colosseum Wines. You won’t find our wine in supermarkets. So, whether you are looking for a top quality sparkling Prosecco or a lovely mineral white wine from the north or fruity and powerful red wine from the south, we have a unique selection to suit every taste.
