Early notice of a special display I'll be taking to 'The Festival of Classic & Sports Cars' at Helmingham Hall, Suffolk on Sunday 4th August.

As part of my Classic Speedway Collection I'll be including a tribute to John 'Tiger' Louis with a number of his original race jackets and racing leathers on display. I hope you can join me in celebrating the life and speedway career of 'Tiger' - local legend and 'Mr Ipswich Speedway'.

Another brilliant day with my Classic Speedway Collection exchanging stories about the good old days of speedway with visitors at Woolpit Steam today. You know it's been a good day when you end up with a sore throat from all the chat! Many thanks to everyone who stopped by to view my display, tell me their stories and relive some great memories.

My 'biggest' commission to date - at least in terms of the size of the race jacket! Meet 'Mirac' the Womble, who made his first public appearance yesterday at the Dons Action Group Family Fun Day.

I'm very pleased to support Jon Stevens, The Dons Den and Wimbledon in Sporting History (WiSH) as they raise funds for a statue of legendary Wimbledon Dons rider and two-time World Champion Ronnie 'Mirac' Moore at the AFC Wimbledon Stadium.

Now back from an excellent 'Wings and Wheels' event at Stow Maries Great War Aerodrome where I had my Classic Speedway Collection on display. Last year I obtained my three articulated mannequins from the Stow Maries museum so it was nice to bring back the former Royal Flying Corp pilots as speedway riders!

Great to chat with so many people during the day, including fans reminiscing about speedway at West Ham, Wembley, Rayleigh, Hackney, Romford, Ipswich and other tracks.

Stow Maries is near a number of the tracks where I rode grasstrack in the 1970s, including Purleigh, Latchingdon and East Haningfield, so it was a real pleasure to meet up with solo riders Andy Matthews, Dave Perry and Terry B***y who also raced there back in the day.

Here is a great new book about the history of Belle Vue Speedway Manchester 1928-1939 written by David Pipes. This paperback is fully illustrated, runs to 374 pages and is available from Amazon.

Last year I was commissioned by David to make a replica of an early 1930s Belle Vue Aces race jacket for inclusion in the book.

Just back from delivering four sets of engine warmers and clutch covers to Classic Race Jackets supported rider Drew Kemp.

These bespoke handstitched designs reflect Drew's new colours and #118 logo for 2024 when he will be racing for Leicester Lions and Berwick Bandits in the UK and for KZ Orzel Lodz in Poland.

All the best for a successful 2024 season Drew.

Going back to my racing roots, Classic Race Jackets is very pleased to support grasstrack rider Steve Garside in 2024.

Steve was an Antig works rider in the late 1980s and recently made a successful comeback riding a 350cc laydown. For the past two seasons Steve has topped the ACU National Gradings List in the 350cc Solo Class.

Classic Race Jackets is continuing its support in 2024 to ex-Ipswich Witches rider Nigel Flatman.

Nigel, who also rode for Peterborough Panthers and Poole Pirates during a career that spanned from 1977 to 1990, continues to race in his adopted homeland of Australia and, when time permits, the occasional track outing here in the UK.

Classic Race Jackets is very pleased to support Drew Kemp Racing #118 for the 2024 speedway season.

This is the fourth consecutive season supporting Drew, who this year will be riding for Leicester Lions in the British Speedway Premiership; Berwick Bandits in the British League Championship; and KZ Orzel Lodz in Polish Speedway League 2.
