INTERNATIONAL STOUT DAY 2022

It’s international stout day and what better way to celebrate than to have a good ol’ glass of the good stuff!

This is ’s Black Oktober, a 9.0% Imperial Russian stout. It’s a very rich and full bodied imperial stout with wonderful flavours of roasted grain and chocolate. These flavours are warmed by molasses and liquorice goodness cloaked in a smooth bitter finish.

Notes of passion fruit, grapefruit, and peach lead the way, with a subtle dank edge that rounds a gentle bitterness.

We have a fresh delivery from hitting the site today!

First up we have one of their latest releases, Time Hops: Simcoe. An 8.0% DIPA which is part of Siren’s Time Hops release, celebrating the world’s favourite hops, and impact they’ve had on beer as we know it. To bring this story to life, Siren created four unique hop-forward beers inspired by some pivotal moments in time where growers and brewers made the magic happen. The story of Simcoe is intertwined with one of the finest beers ever made. Our beer goes all the way back to the start of DIPA as a style, an incredible way to express this seminal hop.

Next we have Lumina, a 4.2% session IPA glowing with juicy tropical notes. Hoppy aromas of mango and pineapple guide you towards explosive flavour, flashes of delicate citrus highlights and refreshing balanced bitterness. Siren’s epiphany of a session beer drinks with a pillowy soft mouthfeel and pours with a beautiful light haze. To top it off it’s Gluten Free and Vegan too!

And lastly, but by no means least, we have Surrounded By The Sound, a 5.5% Hazy Pale. Siren’s latest hazy pale ale is a showcase of hops. Galaxy gives big tropical fruit vibes, Nelson Sauvin brings juicy mid-notes, Motueka adds citrus highs while Bru-1 works its punchy pineapple magic. The beer is beautifully soft, with just a hint of welcome pithy bitterness on the finish. Vegan friendly.

How about this then, a stunning Sour from the Guys down at Vibrant Forest. Brewed in the New Forest, Vibrant have been releasing some absolutely gorgeous beers for quite a few years now and this is no different.

Sweet raspberry is paired with tart rhubarb to create an exceptionally refreshing beer. Married with a strong, oat heavy base, which is then soured with lactobacillus. The aroma in Viridis is palpable, and bursts from the glass. An intensely fruited and thick body await, with the rhubarb and raspberry bringing a perfectly balanced experience throughout.

Stunning colour, great aroma and extra thick hoppy flavour. If you haven’t tried anything from Gekko before, we have 4 including this beaut!

An extra thick body with high wheat and oat content with amped up hoppiness by pairing the Galaxy hops with BBC Mosaic. Large whirlpool hop additions give a nice bitterness to balance it all out.
