Some of you may remember my brother Paul, he was the one who originally bought the shop from Mr Berry (Berry's mini market). Then Pete and I took over in 1982.

It is with great sadness that I have to announce Paul died on the 19th February. His funeral is Friday 12th March at St Swithun's church at 9am for anyone who may wish to say goodbye.

He was a jolly character, loved a chit chat! In recent years his favourite spot was sitting on the freezer chatting to the customers as they came into the shop. If it wasn't for him, I would never have known Sandy, the place I have adored because of the lovely, loyal community.

Please feel welcome to join me on Friday to help me say goodbye to my dear brother.

Could we kindly request that people take heed of the signs that say No parking on our doors that we use for loading. We don't want to scratch your vehicles as some of the cases are as wide as the path on Longfield Road. We have been struggling along for months. We know it's difficult to park down there. If you could at least keep them clear Tuesdays and Wednesdays, we would be most grateful. Thank-you.

Dear valued customers, due to Coronavirus, we regret to inform you we will be reducing our opening hours to 7am - 12pm midday, daily. Please accept our apologies for any inconvenience caused. Please do not come to the shop if you have any symptoms. Please adhere to the limit of no more than 4 people in the shop at any one time. We are very sorry we cannot do more at this time with regards to opening hours and availability of stock. We are trying everything we can. Thank-you so much to you all, our kind, loyal customers.
