Located in Valul-Lui-Traian, a region known for producing high-quality wines.
This Merlot is similar in style to those found on the right bank of the Dordogne. A 2016 Vintage, having spent 6 months in oak and then bottle aged.

Corten’s Merlot is fruity and spicy with layers of smoke, to***co, and leather. The tannins are soft and rounded, the depth is mature & complex.

I was gifted this unusual red wine, Lady in Red by Vinuri De Comrat

It's a semi-sweet red made from Isabella grapes 🍇

The grape was introduced to the Soviet Union via Odessa and is now grown in Moldova, Georgia, and Azerbaijan.

Giving a light bodied sweet red wine, aromas of strawberry 🍓 and ripe red cherry 🍒
On the palate, it's light and fruity with that sweetness coming through. It's not a complex wine nor does it have great depth, but it's a very palatable and unusual table wine. I also think the label is great 🙌

Spotted something surprising at my local Aldi: an Australian Saperavi!

While it's exciting to see this incredible grape gaining global recognition, there's simply no substitute for the real deal. In my (admittedly biased) opinion, the best Saperavi still comes from its heartlands—Georgia and Moldova, where centuries of winemaking tradition bring out the grape's true potential.

Great to see Saperavi on shelves, but if you want to experience its finest expression, Moldovan Saperavi is a must-try!
