The UK government stated that getting UK children back to the classroom was one its top priorities. Children in England returned to school on 8 March 2021 with children in Northern Ireland returning on 22 March 2021.

In Wales there will be a full return by 12 April 2021 and in Scotland the full return is planned for 19 April 2021. Both in Wales and Scotland, primary students have already returned as well as some secondary students.

It is necessary to get the country on its feet again and you should be prepared to do anything to make that happen. The idea behind this was to encourage people of the UK to shop with their local businesses after the lockdown easing. This was a good initiative and did help out. We believe that you should support your local businesses every week.

Most of the primary and secondary schools in the UK have been closed since March when lockdown came into force. There were a small number that opened for a short time, prior to the summer holidays, but, for the majority of schools, re-opening will take place in the first week of September.
