Tribute to Ray Brown

We said goodbye to our dear friend and one of our longest serving employees earlier today. Many of our customers have been wondering why our Blackhall store was closed today and we do apologise for any inconvenience caused, as we understand it is never procedure to close any of our stores.

However, Ray would often put the store first. Therefore, we thought it necessary that we put Ray first and so all employees were requested to close the store and wait for Ray outside the store to pass us one last time. We hope you understand the necessity of this tribute to our dear friend.

Thank you Ray once again for your unconditional and outstanding service to Costcutter. You will be sorely missed.

(Please note that service in our store is now running as normal and without interruption)

We are saddened to hear about the death of the beloved Ray Brown.

Her dedication, hard work, motivation and diligence was inspirational. She always went above and beyond - the perfect employee. She was known for her excellent, kind and loving nature.

Ray was one of our first employees and indeed our longest serving employee who ultimately became a member of the family along with her own family.

Our thoughts and love are extended towards her loving family- Joyce Thomson Jones, Willie and all those who loved her.

Ray you will never be forgotten and will always remain a part of the Costcutter family.
