Good evening everyone,

I know many of you will have met me by now but in case you haven’t I’m Ellie. A year ago today I started at Hovingham stores as its new manager. I jumped at the chance to help out in the family business as it is something I have always wanted to do. I have come on here today to thank all of you. All of our customers and my staff members have been wonderful throughout my first year. Granted it hasn’t been easy but I feel I have started to make head way into the things I would like to accomplish with the shop. Thanks to all of you this past year we have raised over £1000 for different charities. I now have an amazing team behind me. I also now have my little sister Annie ( on the right ) Annie is still in secondary school but comes and helps us out 2 nights a week. It was really important for me when I started to bring the feeling of family and happiness into the shop. I feel I have achieved that. The shop has blossomed into a hub for the village which is lovely to see. At a time when many villages are loosing their village store we are still going strong and will hopefully be for many decades to come. This year also marks the 11th year since my parents bought the shop. At the time I was 8 and Annie was 3 we have both grown up a lot since then. Since starting it’s been lovely seeing all the familiar faces who have watched us grow up. Again I would like to say thank you! Non of this would have been possible without the support of our lovely village community and our customers.

We are fundraising!!!

Our village church bell needs repairing so we are changing things up a little to keep it interesting. Instead of a raffle we are doing a 100 square grid. It’s £1 per square. Once all the squares are taken we will draw a number out of a hat. The winner will win this huge Hovingham stores hamper!
