Londis Lane End proudly celebrates it's 40th Anniversary today, 26th March1984 was the first day of trading! We would like to share our amazing and eventful journey with all our well wishers, especially the village community who have made it possible for us to stay in business for the past 40 years. The Mediratta family are grateful for all the love and support we have received from our customers over this period. Most of you will remember the store by its former name, B&T supermarket. Let's take a trip down memory lane and reminisce the nostalgic 80's.
Mr Lall & his wife Savi initially ran the store with the help of their two older children Mala and Romi. Although their younger two children Reema and Munit were still at school, they helped their parents whenever possible. Mala soon got married and moved away. Reema and Munit went on to university and their chosen careers. Arti joined the family business in 1991 when she wed Romi, not knowing, he was already married... to the shop!
In these 4 decades the store has had 4 major make overs and weathered many changes. However, some things remained constant. Not only has it been home to 3 generations of the family, it has also served 3rd/4th generations of families from the village. We also recognise the efforts of our incredible staff who have always been there for us and their support is much appreciated by us and all our customers.
