Want to get a bit more wine savvy? We recommend investing in a book. Those written by Hugh Johnson are among the most accessible and informative we own.

Here's a nice photo of the man himself this Christmas with a bottle of the excellent Edizione by Fantini Wines.

According to Legend Hugh, who was working for the wine society at the time, advised the producer to create a blend from two different regions!!! Blasphemy at the time but twenty plus vintages later this remains a truly amazing wine.

You might need a bit of warming up in this weather.

We have a small amount of this rather wonderful solera gran reserva Brandy de Jerez. This is the original spirit From Pedro Romero established in 1860 and a Solera of almost as old!!!

Expect real complexity of caramel and oak alongside a raisined fruit quality. You could expect to pay well over £50 for a comparable Brandy we have it for only £25🤯

Don't sleep on it though, we expect this to sell quickly.

The wonderful Harrogate did a great job of hosting us. 🎄We hope you all had an amazing time getting to try and enjoy a room full of great wines and spirits 🍷

We love putting on these kinds of events, but know it wouldn't be possible without all your amazing continued support of Ake & Humphris, so thank you all from the bottom of our hearts ❤️ 🥂

Fantastic news wines from Bordeaux. Very limited parcel so don't hang around.

Ok it's our wine of the week choice from Phil in Collingham. The nights are drawing in and the weather is getting cooler so I thought it was time to crack out the big guns!! This Rasteau is a hefty 15% but slips down like blackberry velvet. Classic Rhone varietals make this a great alternative to Chateau Neuf du Papes and for less than £20 it's a bargain. Salut!!

Friday Night is officially open!!! Our weekend wine tastings are back and what better way to start than the utterly fabulous Greywacke Sauvignon Blanc from Marlborough in New Zealand.

Wine of the week time again... Only this time it's Gin!!!! Thanks Raisthorpe Manor Fine Foods for sending us some of your delicious Sloe Gin. With Sloes being hard to find this year we are very happy to have such a great product to recommend to our customers.

Wine of the week staff pick is from Phil in sunny Collingham. Cru Bourgeois which we showcased at our pop up wine bar event in September. Cru Bourgeois wines are selected each year and give a reassurance of quality and typicity. So always worth checking for when you're choosing your bottle of Bordeaux. See you soon!!

Phil's super happy today. Because our Oktoberfest Beers have just landed in Collingham. We can't wait to share them with you at our Pop up wine bar. This weekend in Collingham!

Here we go on another beautiful day in Collingham. Wine by the glass and plenty of sunshine. Thanks to everyone who was able to make it down Thursday and Friday and if you can make it down today we can't wait to see you! Let's do it again next weekend!!! What do you say?
