In the words of Liberace: ‘for my next number I’d like to return to the classics’

It’s nice to see some favourites back in stock after all of the festivities. Our German selection took a real pasting in December, and rightly so as this really is the good stuff.

So, whether you’re well versed or looking to try something new (it’s is after all) we’re here for you. 🍻

We’re baaaaaaaaaaaaaack! But, just in case you’re not, we have plenty of treats to see you through the weekend. Actually, if you’re already back too then you’ll need treats more than most.

So, either way, we’re here for you.

It’s… Thursday, at a best guess, we’re not entirely sure when it comes to this time of year and we just received a nice drop of sours (and a couple of stouts for good measure) both silly and serious.

Holy Goat hit us with ‘Spectral Lore’, their Framboise style sour with Tayberries in place of Rasps, ‘Riddle Of Oak III’, the latest version of their barrel aged Flanders, this time aged in Calvados barrels 🤤 and ‘Double Chocolate Orange Stout’ which does exactly what you would expect with a name like that. Never expected to see that classic stocking stuffer made spooky, and yet here we are.

Vault City are back with their latest batch of sours and ‘homages’ to some ancient Scottish (and American) favourites. That Caramel Wafer Stout is calling our name, but there’s all sorts of other daftness too, in quite limited quantities, so you know what to do.

It’s beginning to look a lot like… a slightly late update!

There’s some festive fun from Germany, a whole host of options from Rivington (including some of those Impy Stouts and Barleywines that you like), the return of Cup O’Kindness from Dookit and a new NEDIPA from Otherworld.

More to come over the rest of week, we’ll try to let you know about all of those if it’s not toooooooooo busy in here.

That’s all for now 🍻

Alright, alright, we can’t ignore it any longer…

It is indeed reaching that time of year, and whether you’re treating a pal, a loved one, or just treating yourself we’re here for you.

Reds, whites, sparkling, sweeties… whether tried, tested and true classics or something a little more unusual, we have you covered.

Well now, THIS is a nice start to the day, a fresh drop!

‘Cakes & Ale’ is a Winter Ale inspired by Lebkuchen. Spicy, zesty, nutty and warming.

‘Bean To Beer’ is a Chocolate Porter brewed in collaboration with

‘Cone Zone V3’ is a Mild brewed with Cascade hops grown right here in Glasgow. Oor David has had several pints of this on cask over the last month and will not stop going in about it, going so far as to say it’s one of his beers of the year. Delicious stuff.

Last, and in no way least, is the barrel aged version of their Oyster Stout ‘No Work Today’ in beautiful big waxed 750ml bottles.

Fine Festive Fare we reckon. 🍻

An extremely nice little selection (in our humble opinion) this week. I’m sure you won’t be surprised to hear that it’s a little busy here, so let’s get on with it:

🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 a (delicious, your roving reporter had it last week at a tasting) whisky barrel aged dark lager from Otherworld and the 2024 vintage of Black Isle’s Colonel Custard, their yearly Scotch Ale in tribute to their loyal brewery terrier.

🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿 Abyss with a Krush & Mosaic hopped Pale Ale and Yonder with a ‘sweet shop peanut brittle’ Pastry Stout.

🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿 (cont.) a sweet spread of The Kernel with the 2024 take on their NZ hopped IPA, Nectaron and Superdelic single hop Pales aaaaaaaaaaaaand the return of their Victorian Mild! You loved it, we loved it, we got extra so there’s no fighting, so have at it.

Bonus close up of that Colonel Custard illustration because LOOK AT HIM! 😍

On a dark morning a few months ago we braved a Planes, Trains & Automobiles style transportation scenario to get to a tasting down south. These wines made the whole daft trip worth it.

Charles Frey is a biodynamic producer from Alsace, producing exceptional, exciting wines that we are lucky enough to now have on the shelves. A Riesling, a skin-contact blend of Gewurtztraminer & Riesling, a blend of Sylvaner & Pinot Gris produced using a solera system, a Pinot Noir and a delicious dry Cremant are all in stock now. Limited quantities, so come and see us at your earliest convenience for the good stuff.

Seems like it must be Wednesday as it’s time for our regular west coast v east coast 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 wrasslin’ session.

In the Glasgow corner it’s the latest 3 from Overtone, with a new ALCOHOL FREE (0.5%) Pale Ale, an aromatic Pale and classic juicy IPA.

Aaaaaaaaand representing Edinburgh it’s Vault City with a Dark Cherry & White Chocolate Yule Log Sour, the ‘Blackberry Strawberry Woo Woo’ iteration of their Stoopid series and a Maple Syrup and Coffee Imperial Breakfast Stout.

As always there’s no need to pick a winner, just come and get whatever ones you fancy.

🚨 NEW (British) BEER TUESDAY KLAXON🚨

Before we start to see a decided uptick in 🎅 ☃️ 🎁 beers there’s still time to squeeze in little less festive fare. So, without further ado:

🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 (despite Pilot’s best attempts to suggest otherwise with their can art) An ‘American Brown’ from the aforementioned Pilot, alongside a Mango & Pandan Fruit Kveik beer and a Tropical Stout from Otherworld.

🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿 A Best Bitter and Wheat Beer from one of our favourite new breweries Ideal Day.

🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿 Polly’s doing what Polly’s do best, with 2 punchy IPAs, no messin’ 🍻
