Good Spirits Wine & Beer The newest wine merchant in the city centre. Opened June 2015, we aim to be the best independent win

We are an independent wine and beer merchant based on West Nile Street in Glasgow city centre. Our craft beer range includes many fine brews from Britain, Belgium, the USA, the Czech Republic, and beyond, with everything from the hoppiest of IPAs to the darkest of porters, via lambics, dubbels, tripels, saisons and many more. We have a great range of wine from around the world, with a particular f

ocus on Spain and Italy, as well as classics from France, Australia, Chile, and South Africa amongst others. To round it off we have a choice of champagnes and sparkling wines, along with port, sherry, and dessert wines, while our fine wine cabinet has a small selection or old, rare, or particularly fine wines.

We weren’t lying when we told you there was more to come…

🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿 4 fresh Barons, including their first run up at an adjunct laden Impy Stout.

Pastore are back with two fun cans and a BIG golden sour with Fredricksdal cherries.

& 2 more English offerings in the form of Old Chimneys ‘Le Cardinale’, a Bière de Garde and ‘Kimber’s Chimney’, an Imperial Coffee Stout from Ascapart.

🇵🇹 FOUR (count ‘em) cans from Ophiussa, 3 smoothie sours and a chocolate & hazelnut Cream Stout. Online ratings suggest that the beer is as delicious as the cans are beautiful, so these won’t be around for long.

🇫🇮 Finland’s Factory Brewing team up with some of their (and our, and your) favourite U.K. breweries - Track, Beak, Sureshot, Polly’s & Rivington no less - for a 6 way collab IPA alongside 5 individual collaborations and a wee bonus Coconut & Vanilla Imperial Stout all of their own.

🇨🇦 Last up, but in no way least we have the return of Canada’s Brewskey with a big hitting (look at those beer site scores) TIPA.

Quite a day all in all. Pop in and see us if you need any or all of these, or indeed lots of other treats. 🍻

🚨 NEW BEER KLAXON 🚨

We got a whole lot of classics in yesterday, but today is all about the NEW.

Vault City are back with the ‘Marvellous Liquids’ series, clearly plucked from their own (pure) imaginations. There’s a blueberry bubblegum sour, a strawberry white chocolate & caramel sour, a mixed berry smoothie sour, a raspberry & peach nitro sour and the most indulgent stout they have ever produced. No need for a golden ticket, no need to traumatise your children (remember the Wonka Experience? A less than gentle reminder that AI is bad folks), these are all in stock for you now.

👉 for some other Scottish treats in the form of ‘Zenith’ Overtone’s latest collaboration with Bleed From Within, the return of their classic’Weegie’ and a yuzu & matcha tea hazy pale.

Much more to come, but enjoy this lot for now. 🍻

Some tried, tested and true treats for these last unexpected rays of spring sunshine.

Clea Verdejo: intense pears, zesty citrus and cut grass on the nose, with more minerality on the palate.

Zin Fiano: Crisp and refreshing, with great texture alongside floral and herbal notes. Last time it passed my lips I also got a whack of melon, and I had no complaints at all.

Herencia Altes ‘Llunari’: An orange made with 100% Garnatxa, it’s all quince and oranges up front with a long lasting nuttiness on the finish. Another one with great texture.

Domaine de la Madone ‘La Vinif à Papa’: for all you light red lovers, this is an absolute belter of a Beaujolais. All cherries and raspberries with a touch of florals and spice.
An absolutely perfect glugger on a day like today, although you can say ‘glou-glou’ if you’re feeling fancy.

To possibly slightly misquote Tolstoy (What, you were just expecting some standard beer chat?) all the variety, all the beauty of life is made up of light and shadow. Personally we have been quite enjoying all of the extra light that the last couple of weeks have provided, but we also have no complaints about a fresh batch of brews from from those shadowy (not shady, we really just mean the visuals here) Dundonians Holy Goat.

There’s a golden sour with brambles, a Flanders Red with apricots & plums, a (very) barrel aged blackcurrant number which is already in (very) short supply, a West Coast IPA in collaboration with the DCA for their excellently named ‘Dundead’ film festival, and a hefty Imperial Stout in collaboration with The Source Coffee Roasters.

Perfect to enjoy in either light or shade.

I promise I’ll be back to bad puns and daft chat soon enough. 🍻🐐

Hullo, it’s yersel!

Hope you’re enjoying some sunshine out there. Us? Och, we’re just filling the shelves with some fresh delicious beverages that can be enjoyed whether you have the sun in your face or prefer the comfort of shadier spots.

We have a new alcohol free chocolate & cherry stout, a couple of fresh ones from Ideal Day, a porter brewed in celebration of Anspach & Hobday’s 11th (I think?) birthday, there’s the latest vintage of DuPont’s ‘Avec Les Bon’s Voeux’, alongside their BRAND NEW ‘Saison Dry Hop’ and last but by no means anything approaching least there’s a nice spread of Tegernsee goodies.

More to come from close to home and a little further afield later in the week, but these are all in stock NOW.

Told you there was more to come…

Aldi’s Dr Pepper ‘homage’ is called ‘Professor Peppy’, which always makes me laugh when I’m doing my shopping. Not sure why that’s on my mind…

Aaaaaaaanyway, it’s Vault City time again and this week it’s their soda series (with a wee bonus early Easter number for good measure). You probably don’t need me to tell you what each one *might* be based on, I reckon the close to the bone graphic design tells you all you need to know.

👉 for some fresh Otherworld treats (including one of the only dark beers of the week), and a crisp wit from Mains.

Wine lovers, it has been a busy couple of days on the other side of the shop too, so stay tuned for an update on all of that in the next day or two.

Spring is fair springing today, and the shelves are full of thirst quenching beverages to enjoy in the sunshine (or indeed in the shade, lots of us are rather fair skinned around here, we understand).

🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 There’s a new lager (lagered for 💯 days no less, it was a lot colder then) from Futtle, alongside their delicious table beer.

🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿 Some juicy favourites - both fresh and classic - from Verdant, a West Coast Pale from thee mighty Burning Sky, a lesser seen Grisette (traditionally brewed to quench thirst and sooth aching backs after a hard days work in the fields, but equally effective after a shift in the Wine & Beer mines) and a Belgian Wit style Wheat Beer from our favourite family brewery Ideal Day.

🇩🇪 We got our hands on Schlenkerla’s Fastenbier (a beer traditionally brewed for Lent) and Augustiner’s Starkbier ‘Maximator’, both are pretty much a drink and a meal in one. 🥧🍻

More to come, but for now these are all in stock and on the shelves for your sunshine sipping requirements NOW.

Don’t forget, we’re not ALL about beer.
There’s a whole ‘nother side of the shop, and it’s just as exciting!
So, let’s have a break from our regularly scheduled ‘beers on a shelf’ posts, with this:

A little selection of some of the wines that we’ll have open for tasting on Saturday afternoon, round the corner in tasting room at our & Company In-store pour. Yes, all of these and many more will be open for your delight and delectation.

Come see us, hang out, have a chat, taste some wines. It’s going to be a very nice time.

Look at these beauties positively glowing in the morning sun, as if to say ‘don’t worry pal, work will be done soon enough and we’ll be here for you, we’re going to be delicious come the golden hour’… that’s certainly what they’re saying to me.

Beautiful cans, beautiful beer. Drink them in.

There’s so many fresh new beers today that you’ll have to forgive us if we don’t have time to give you the lowdown on each and every one. Let’s start with the latest batch of silly sours from Vault City and a fresh Hazy Pale and a delicious smoky QUADRUPLE Chilli Imperial Stout from Otherworld.

Stay tuned for more! 📻

It’s the start of another big week for exciting deliveries, and whilst there’s a focus on the NEW in the next couple of days today is about the classics.

1. Still smokin’
A welcome rauchbier return, with a broad spread of Schlenkerla and a cheeky wee Scottish outlier.

2. Dark beer for bright days.
Another couple of 🇩🇪 all timers and a much more modern favourite.

Still no sign of a dark beer emoji, so we’ll sign off with the traditional 🍻

Spring is fair springing today, eh?
The sun is out and the beers are in, maybe you could combine the two.

4 new Holy Goats: a golden sour, a blood orange sour, a date porter and a smoked rye stout.

More smoke in the form of Simple Things Fermentations new collaboration with Croft 3, a peat smoked Brown Ale.

Vault City turning their usual line up in its head with just one sour and THREE stouts.
Seems like we have been waiting for some time for some fresh stout and they all turn up in time for the most clement weather of the year.

Aaaaaaaaand if that’s all a bit dark then there’s a rebrew of Overtone’s West Coast Pale ‘Interstate’, an Amarillo laced GLUTEN FREE Pale Ale from Weekend Project (500ml of the stuff no less) and a hazy Red IPA from Northern Monk.

Our doors are open, our shelves (and our hearts) are full and we’re here until 7PM.

LOTS of new deliveries today, on both sides of the shop. Stay tuned for some of the new stuff, but we thought that we should really mention the return of these all time favourites from Moutard.

We love them, you love them, they’re here for you now.🥂

Some somewhat unexpected sunshine + a somewhat unexpected cider/perry drop = a very nice Saturday thanksverymuch.

3 Mills/Oliver’s collaborations, the latest iteration of Gold Rush, a welcome return for The Last Hurrah (an absolutely beautiful Perry made in 2001. Yes, you read that right) and 2 new bottles from Ross-On-Wye.

All available in the shop and online now.

It’s nearly the weekend, so here’s a roundup of some of this week’s arrivals for you!

There’s a couple of local winners, some fun cans containing even more fun liquid, sours both silly and serious, there’s juicy, there’s bitter, there’s Czech lager that’s actually Czech, there’s a big barrel aged Belgian, reader: there’s LOADS.

One of those weeks where we truly believe that there’s something for every single beer lover.

It’s absolutely miserable out there, so come and see us, buy yourself a treat or two and keep cosy over the weekend ahead. 🍻
