LONGROW Peated Campbeltown Malt Whisky.

First distilled in 1973 LONGROW is a double distilled, heavily peated single malt, produced at Springbank Distillery in Campbeltown. The malt is peat dried for up to 48 hours to give the whisky a unique Campbeltown style smoky-character. Less than 100 casks of LONGROW are filled each year.as this whisky is not chill filtered a natural haze may form when it is cold but this will disappear when the temperature returns to normal.

This is just one of many bottles we have sourced in for a great customer of ours. Sourcing bottles is what we do best and we endeavour to give you the best price possible.

“Today’s Rain Is Tomorrow’s Whisky.”
Etched on a stave, on the wall belonging to a good friend is one of the best sayings in relation to whisky, on par with “The Angels Share.” What comes down however, must go back up......

Way back when, whisky cask levels would alter and fingers were pointed. Distillers couldn’t understand why they would fill the barrels, seal them and when it came to bottling there would be less liquid come out than what went in. Amidst the confusion, this was then dubbed “The Angels Share.”

The phenomenon was said to be ‘Heaven Tax.’ The more mature the cask was, the more ‘Tax’ was taken.
Infact, what was actually happening was that whilst the whisky slowly matured, a fraction, year by year would evaporate through the wooden cask. They say this roughly accounts for 2% liquid loss each year its left to age. (The process which is used today to account for this is now know as calculated maturation loss, killing the nostalgia of the angels.)

The Angels Share is considered a whisky collectors worst enemy. We have in fact seen several bottles in our own collection succumb to this nightmare until the same friend told us of the whisky collectors best friend. And we haven’t looked back or failed to apply it to each bottle we ha e welcomed into our collection since!

Parafilm M is a sealing film, invented in the US back in 1936. Commonly used in Health care settings such as laboratories to cover flasks, test tubes etc...
With the ability to stretch 200% of its original size and as its proprietary combination of Polyolefins & Waxes, this creates the perfect moisture resistant seal barrier.

Using Parafilm to over wrap your bottle lids gives you the greatest chance of keeping a bottle in tact, denying the angels a drop! You also store Parafilm within the same temperature settings you do your bottles so it’s a win win.

Parafilm is available to purchase in the UK widely. Infact, you can also buy it from such sites as Amazon and EBay.

As a collector you will appreciated the money you have invested in bottles and therefore watching it disappear before your eyes and devaluation is just heart wrenching.
So I’m sure from one collector to another such information is golden and needs to be passed on.

This is the first ever release of ‘The King o’ Drinks...’ as a 15 year old whisky matured only in freshly charred American oak hogsheads.

They have imbued the sweetness, depth of taste and complexity of the mature distillery character with a fresh intensity.

The aroma is maritime, with notes of sea salt, dry seaweed, peeling boat varnish and warm sand, on a base of smouldering peat. The texture is smooth, the taste unexpectedly rich and sweet before a growing spiciness comes through, with a pinch of salt and chilli pepper. The finish is long, spicy and drying.

Valfather is the final whisky in a series of three special edition Viking Legend releases. Inspired by Odin, the mightiest, and most complex, of the Norse gods, he’s associated with wisdom, sorcery, poetry, death, wolves, and ravens. An intriguingly complex figure... it only follows that his whisky should be as complex, but we’ll try and describe it simply.

Winning gold in the 2020 World Whisky Awards, Valfather is our most peated whisky to date and matured entirely in our finest refill casks to ensure that all that peat is balanced with subtle layers of flavour and character.

You’ll taste the syrupy sweet apple, fragrant pear, crème brûlée, toasted cedarwood, and smoked paprika. If we had to make up a word for such a flavour, it’d be Stickysmoke.

The packaging for each release in the Viking Legend series was created by Jim Lyngvild, a Danish designer and artist of international renown, whose 36th great grandfather was Ragnvald Eysteinsson, the first Earl of the Orkney Islands.

GLENMORANGIE EXTREMELY RARE 18 yr OLD.

A prestige bottle with serious distinction.
Once it has spent fifteen years maturing in American white oak casks approximately 30% is transferred into Spanish Oloroso casks to spend a further 3 years maturing.
Then, when both elements have reached eighteen years, it’s blended back together to create a whisky with a rich bouquet and full, rounded flavour.

For a whisky of this age this expression has maintained, thanks to delicate floral spirit and fine Oloroso casks, an incredible degree of vibrancy where the raisiny sweetness of the Sherry has been toned down by the nuttiness of the American oak.

ON THE NOSE: Rich, rounded and sweet with dried fruits and a complex floral fragrance.

ON THE PALATE: A balance of honey, malt and flowery scents. Dates and figs emerge in the background with a hint of wood smoke.

THE FINISH: Long and enticing with the sweetness of dried fruit and subtle dryness of Oloroso nuttiness.

MULTIPLE AWARD WINNER
