Say Bonjour to my Wine Of The Month: Picpoul De Pinet.

Why I love it? Not something new to us at Ellie’s but I was reminded what a lovely dry, crips white this was when I visited the winery last week (on a cycling trip) in the Languedoc region of France. If you are yet to try a Picpoul De Pinet they are known for their crisp acidity, citrus and zesty aromas with a clean minerality which is unmatched from anywhere else in the world. This Picpoul in particular is from one of the more forward thinking wineries who have taken advantage of a legislation change allowing the use of limited irrigation. This allows them to maintain the healthiest grapes and the best quality wine in this drought affected area of southern France. It’s Grown on slopes overlooking the Étang de Thau which grows around 8% of France’s oysters - so of course I had to try my first Oyster while visiting the area accompanied with a gorgeous glass of Picpoul (as pictured)…and Voilà, it became May’s Wine of the Month.

No…surprisingly it’s not made with Oranges. The world hasn’t gone too mad, we’re still using grapes to make Wine so lets think of Orange wine like the cool cousin of white wine. It’s made from white grapes, but unlike white wine and more like red wine method, the skins are left on during fermentation giving that gorgeous Amber hue.

You can buy online for in store collection or delivery. You can also make your way to one of our stores for opening - they each have a minimum of 6 bottles to sell tomorrow from 10am

What Time Is The Release?
If you have signed up - You will receive an email at 10am on Tuesday 26th March with a link to buy online. (please check your junk mail!) If you aren’t successful online, or you prefer to come see us in store check out your closest stores opening hours below.

How Many Bottles Can I Buy?
We will be limiting all purchases to 1 bottle per customer. If you attempt to buy more than this, through separate transactions we will cancel and refund your order - as not to give me more work I ask that you please don’t do this.

It’s Monday…so for some of us that means no more alcohol until at least Fri…mhh Thursday.. maybe even Wednesday!

Did you know that the alcohol-free sector is booming? With more people trading hangovers for hydration and seeking healthier lifestyle choices the demand for high-quality alcohol-free beverages has never been higher. In fact, according to recent industry reports, the alcohol-free market is expected to continue its impressive growth.

Of course we’re riding the wave and have to be at the forefront of this movement.
