Forget the candlelit clichés, overpriced roses, and awkward set menus—we’re doing Valentine’s differently at The Pour House! Whether you’re single, coupled up, coming with your mates or just here for the beer, BBQ & chocolate, this is a night for anyone who loves great food, great drinks, and great company.

🍺 6:30 PM – Arrive & Cheers!
Start the evening with a glass of something special—a refreshing Electric Bear beer or a glass of fizz.

🔥 7:00 PM – BBQ Feast by Smokinly Good BBQ
Dig into a mouth-watering BBQ main course (meat & veggie options available), paired with a 1/3 of Electric Bear beer.

🍫 7:45 PM – Dessert Time
Something rich and chocolatey (because what’s Valentine’s without chocolate?), expertly matched with another 1/3 of Electric Bear beer.

🍬 8:00 PM – After-Dinner Treats
Round off the night with after-dinner chocolates and—of course—another 1/3 of Electric Bear beer to match.

And the best part? Electric Bear will be here in person to chat about the beers—the stories behind them, the hops, the brewing process, and even the awesome can artwork. It’s a chance to taste new beers, learn a little, and celebrate our partnership with one of the best breweries around.

We’ll be running the beer service from the cellar bar, keeping things intimate while the rest of the pub remains open for anyone looking for a regular Wednesday night pint.

🍻 Research Trip in Progress… It’s a Tough Job, But Someone’s Gotta Do It! 🍻

Today, we’re at Left Handed Giant on a very important mission: to test out new beers and scout for the next exciting addition to our draught lineup. Yes, we take our craft VERY seriously—after all, only the best makes it to The Pour House!

From hoppy delights to smooth sippers, we’re putting in the hard work (and taste-testing every pint) to ensure we bring you nothing but the finest. It’s a tough job, but someone’s got to do it… and we’re more than up for the challenge.

Stay tuned—you might just see some Left Handed Giant magic pouring at our taps soon. Until then, raise a glass for beer research (it’s practically science, right?). 🍺

🌟 An Update on Tony 🌟

We wanted to share an update on Tony. He remains in hospital, where he is still receiving treatment. The plan is to move him to another hospital soon so he can begin rehabilitation treatment.

It’s going to be a long road to recovery, but if there’s one thing we all know about Tony, it’s that he’s a fighter. We’re all hoping he’ll respond well to the next stage of his treatment and get back on his feet as soon as possible. 💛

In the meantime, we’ve got a card here at the bar for him, and we’d love it if you could pop in and add your messages of love and support. Daphne, his wife, has been passing on all of your messages, and they mean the world to both of them.

📅 We’re open today from 2–8 PM, and the card will be behind the bar all week for anyone who’d like to sign it.

So, if you’re out and about on this rainy Sunday, why not drop in for a chill, a nice drink, and to sign the card? It’s the perfect chance to show Tony how much he’s missed and how much we’re all rooting for him.

Thought that we’d lighten the mood a little after the news from yesterday…….

Not long until the next book club meeting on 3rd February and Kraken has been busy doing his homework deciding on his top 5 books.

Here they are:

1. “Bark to Where You Came From” (Back to Where You Came From)
A thrilling tale of an adventurous pup trying to find their way home—guided only by smells, treats, and a lot of tail wags. Spoiler: there’s a detour to the sausage stand.

2. “The Great Catsby”
Forget Gatsby—this is the story of one classy cocker spaniel throwing legendary garden parties (with endless tennis balls) and chasing dreams… and tails.

3. “Harry Pawter and the Goblet of Gravy”
Magic, mayhem, and… GRAVY?! Follow Harry Pawter and his furry friends as they solve the ultimate mystery: who stole the Sunday roast scraps?

4. “Pride and Pedigree”
A tale of love, loyalty, and licks. Will Mr. Darcy-Doggo ever admit he’s head over paws for a scrappy little spaniel from the park?

🌟 A Message for Our Pour House Family 🌟

We wanted to share some news about our bar manager, Tony. On Saturday, Tony was taken ill while at the bar and needed to be taken to hospital by ambulance. He remains in hospital and is currently very unwell.

Tony isn’t just our bar manager—he’s the heart and soul of The Pour House. His warmth, humour, and incredible dedication are what make this place feel like home for so many of us. It’s hard to imagine the bar without his friendly face behind it, and we’re all missing him deeply.

We know how much Tony means to all of you, and we’re sure you’ll join us in wishing him a speedy recovery and keeping him in your thoughts. Let’s all send as much love and positive energy his way as we can.

As soon as we have any updates on Tony’s condition, we’ll be sure to let you know. In the meantime, if you’d like to share any kind words or well wishes for him, feel free to leave a comment—we’ll make sure he knows how loved and missed he is.
