New in this week - Tartarus Beers bestow us with a 6.1% IPA with a secret blend of hops and yeast, and a juicy 8.4% Double IPA; Vault City Brewing classic Iron Brew 4.8% sour is back; Brew York latest Juice Forsyth iteration is fruited and alcohol-free; shop debut for Unbound Brew Co. with a tropical New England pale, and a juicy 6.4% IPA; and Neon Raptor Brewing Co. give us another shot at stocking their official tributes to John Carpenter (ITMOM FTW) with two IPAs resplendent in their label artwork.

A small restock of and of the above, plus some Chimay Blue, and Rochefort 6, 8 & 10. Come February 2nd there will be a significant increase In the Alcohol Duty rate for packaged beers, not to mention an already happening necessary increase in costs for and from individual breweries, foreign and domestic. Probably best to pick up your favourite beer now; use your Christmas vouchers; and stockpile those hard-to-find gems.

Our January shop hours continue to be a bit up in the air for various reasons, but we'll be open again tomorrow with a restock of a few Belgian favourites, plus more Augustiner Helles, Vault City's Iron Brew, and two new IPAs from Tartarus. We're offering free local Cowes/Gunard delivery if you need some beer and can't make our (stupidly inconsistent) opening times - we're always about somewhere.

We listened. Four new IPAs from two breweries that excel at them Azvex Brewing Co. and Gravity Well Brewing Company including two 8% collabs, with Development Hell 6 boasting lesser known hops Alora, Erebus & Manilita, and Binary Star Collision exploding with Mosaic, Strata, Citra & Nectaron.

Well, thanks to the amazing folks at Left Handed Giant Brewing Co. (and DPD) we’ve snagged a last minute fresh quartet of beers - including a heavily-hopped NZ beer; a rare IPA without Nelson(!); and a hazy pale with Eggers Special and The Bruce for something quite terroir.

Get those last minute gifts to yourself. Open till 4.30pm this Christmas Eve, then closed until Saturday.

Join Sam and I, this Saturday 21st December for our farewell to arms Casual Christmas Drink-in between 6 and 10, when we'll be pouring pints of Pentrich's Crimes In Riwaka 7% IPA, have a mystery flight of three pale ales to challenge your taste buds, and over 100 other beers to choose from in the fridges and on the shelves, including a wealth of newly arrived stouts, and IPAs. There may be rum. It might be fun. There will be crisps. But no 7-up. Then you can head off to a pub for a band, and a £6.50 pint of Madri.
