Don’t know if we’ve mentioned it much 😅 but it’s our 3rd Birthday on SATURDAY !!!! 🎉🥳

So we RETURNED, once again, BACK TO THE….Left Handed Giant brewery to brew our first Birthday beer 🍻
…and boy are we excited for this one!!

Now part of me wants to tell you what we’ve brewed…
…the other part wants to keep you in suspense…

We really can’t believe it, but we’re turning 3 this Saturday 🤯🤯🤯

So of course there’s only one thing to do… have a great big party of course!!!!

This party is a big ‘ol thankyou to you, the wonderful people who have come through our doors these last 3 years and made Alpha what it is today 🥰

We’ve gone to even greater lengths to celebrate this year! Teaming up with THREE breweries to bring you THREE brand new Birthday Beers!!! 🍺🍺🍺

All THREE beers will be pouring from the taps and available in cans ALL DAY!

Our mates at 🍕 will be slinging the goods from across the road for all your culinary needs, there will be CAKE 🍰 and extra cheesy tunes of course from DJ Spotify 🤩🎶

And to top it all off, we’ve got ourselves a late license for the night so you can hang about until well into the evening as we raise a glass to celebrate 3 years 🍺

Bringing back another round of ‘what we’ve been drinking’ 🍺 …Kodi edition!…well sort of! He lets us drink the beers but he 100% gets more likes than us so…😅😅😅

Burst Into Bright 6.0% Kviek IPA

We’ve got this pouring on keg atm (as well as cans) and it really is a lovely fruit little number 👌 very juicy, orangey flavours coming through and an amazing aroma to match! 🍊☀️✨

London Black 4.4% Nitro Stout

Had it on keg - delicious! Now had it can…still delicious!! This is the first batch they’ve done in can & we’re very happy about this!! Rich, smooth & creamy with just about more going on, flavour-wise than ‘the other one’. Lovely beer this one 🥰🖤

All Night AF 0.5% Alcohol free IPA

This, genuinely is one of the best AF’s I’ve ever tried!! Landed yesterday so cracked one open after and dayammm 🤯 if someone told me it was a 3% beer, I would agree! Would highly recommend for all 👌🔥🍺

🍻 What we’ve been drinking 🍻

We’ve decided to bring back an old post, ‘what we’ve been drinking’ 🍺 after someone reminded us about them and that our recommendations really helped their choices in the shop 😇💙

So here it is!!! 🚀

Taco 5.6% DDH Pale

After a bit of a hiatus of super hoppy beers, this one brought me back with a big ‘ol smile on my face! Lovely, fresh, hoppy notes on a super soft profile, this beer really does show why Beak are so good at pales 🥰☀️🍺

Arosa 5.2% Helles Lager

Admittedly this isn’t the first time I’ve had this beer, but god it’s good!! Helles is my favourite style of lager and Track have done a great job with this one! Light, slightly sweet and incredibly easy to drink!

Dreams Of You 8.0% DIPA

Haven’t had too many DIPA’s recently, but couldn’t resist one from Floc 💙 bold hop flavours from a medley of NZ hops and a super smooth mouthfeel makes you think you’re drinking a delicious 6% This is dangerously drinkable! Floc have done it again 👌

🍻🐺 ALPHA XPA 🐺🍻

Yesterday, we had the pleasure of getting up to at the to brew up a fresh batch of our house pale - Alpha XPA 🍺

With head brewer and bestie Floz (and his fluffy assistant 🐾) we brewed a new iteration of our XPA. We love our XPA, but a few small tweaks to make it even better are the key to keeping it fresh! 🔥

Continuous improvements are in the mindset of Floz, striving to make better and better beer! And we love that 💪💪

The beer itself has been amped up ever so slightly with an addition of New Zealand ‘Nectaron’ hops 🍃 and with a little tweak to the malt bill too, we can’t wait to taste this!!! 🍻😍

A few weeks fermenting on a blend of US-05 & Verdant Yeast, a big ol’ dry hop addition, and it’ll be ready to goooo!!!! 🍺🍺🍺🍺🍺🍺🍺🍺

But unfortunately we’ll all have to wait until then to try it 😓 haha!

Welcome to Race but not a Race where we’ve curated a list of locations and fun challenges around Bristol! We will be allowing each team to strategically choose the best route and gather as many pints, (I mean points) as possible within the designated time. Keep an eye out for bonus points as you set off on the endless pursuit of points! Get ready for an experience that combines our favorite things- beer and running- with a good dose of lighthearted FUN!

Sign up per person, 3 people per group - If you haven’t got a group you will be assigned one on the day.

12:00 PM - RACE STARTS
3:00 PM - Finish Time

Point System

1 point per KMs run.

If someone in the group doesn’t want to run, that’s totally fine, ALL MEMBERS OF THE GROUP MUST STICK TOGETHER! If any groups arrive to checkpoints without each member points will be deducted.

Bonus points for cans of selected brewery residencies - they must be brought to the final location (empty or full) to secure the points. Cans can be obtained from anywhere along the route.

Additional bonus points can be collected at certain challenges or other bonus locations along the way.

Points are deducted for any latecomers past the finish time and for any missing members. Points deducted by breaking any of the rules of run club, and being disrespectful to any of the other runners, members of the public or venues we will be using.

We will be using an honor system to tally the scores. First, second and third place will be checked for points and then awarded some very special prizes. Keep an eye out for bonus points as you set off on the endless pursuit of points!
