Think you don't like Chardonnay? Can we change your mind?

Chardonnay is a chameleon grape and can taste totally different depending on where it is grown and how it is handled by the winemaker.

Today we will have two very different Chardonnays open for you to try. One fresh, unoaked Chardonnay from the Loire, France & one complex and oak-aged Chardonnay from South Africa.

Come and try with an open mind and see which you prefer!

Today we are getting back on the 'Friday Freepour' horse, so that you can have a wee try of things you may not normally pick off the shelf. Surely that is what an independent wine shop should be all about?

This beautiful Loire Muscadet is brought to us by Master of Wine Richard Kelley who suggests we should all "Drink a pint of Muscadet" (if you are of a certain age you will understand!).

Gorse is one of the locally inspired botanicals that makes Aberdour Gin. The Gorse we used in our recipe creation was foraged from the cliffs near Ha Lighthouse and 'Room with a View' restaurant.

The next batch of Aberdour Gin will be with us at the start of April, all going well.

Something a little fun for a Sunday morning!

Introducing "Sumo Cat" - a zippy, fresh, off-dry German Riesling.

Sumo cat combines flavours of ripe apricot, peach, and pear with knife-edge acidity and razor-sharp crispness, all at 10.5% ABV. What more could you ask from a white wine…? Ah, a cat on a scooter, of course!

We are always looking for ways to make our wee shop more cosy & welcoming.

We know wine shops can be stuffy. So we work really hard to make sure ours doesn't feel like that & that people know they are always welcome in for a chat & a browse.

Our latest addition to our space is a beautiful antique lamp from Flemings Furniture in Inverkeithing. Such a lovely place to visit with lots of new treasures & delights to explore on a weekly basis. Check them out! Shop local!

Batch 4 of Aberdour Gin should be with us in early April. When it is produced, that will represent a staggering 350L of Aberdour Gin having made its way into the world since July 24!

In keeping with our promise that this is a local gin made to celebrate all things Aberdour, we have made a charitable donation to "Aberdour Village in Bloom" from the sale of Batch 3.

We are beyond delighted to have secured a very limited allocation of Daftmill whisky.
This is a 100% single-estate, malt whisky from Fife.

Daftmill is a working farm owned by Francis & Ian Cuthbert whose family has farmed the land since the 1980s.

The barley used for production is farmed by Francis on the estate. The whisky is also distilled by Francis himself (a true one man band) in the farm off-season; two months in summer & two months in winter. This traditional way of running a distillery hasn’t been seen in Scotland since the 1800s.

Daftmill is one of Scotland’s smallest distilleries by output, distilling only about 100 casks per year. No whisky is released until is has aged for at least 10 years. This is all about quality over quantity.

The Drinks Cabinet is delighted to offer for sale two Daftmill whiskies:

- The 2011 46% Winter Batch Release @ £105 per bottle
- The Daftmill Fife Strength 56.3% 15 year old (distilled in 2009, bottled in 2024) @ £170 per bottle

These bottles are strictly on a first come, first served basis. Bottles must be paid in full to secure purchase. Interest can be noted by emailing [email protected]

One of my favourite stories is that two of our wine cans (as part of our first deal) made it to the top of Schiehallion! 🥾👏
