Close to the Polish border and the Baltic coast is Zinzow Castle. Here Thomas distills in an old distillery. It used to be a traditional grain distillery. Today there is a pot still, which is ideal for fruit brandies and distillates. Thomas spent his apprenticeship in the flavor industry. But then he preferred to extract the flavors himself in small quantities. You can tell from his products that he is interested in clear, aromatic concepts and precision. Whether gin, liqueur or fruit brandy, all of his spirits have a timeless style and are perfectly crafted. Thomas comes to Berlin with a selection that perfectly represents his style.

A new distillery was built and Julian was hired as a young master distiller. He has been in charge of production ever since. The range of distillates has expanded. In addition to fruit brandies, they now produce not only gin and liqueurs, but also whisky.

Martin, or Motte as his friends call him, comes from Styria in Austria. His passion for gin led him to become a distiller. In addition to his experimental gins based on very exotic flavor combinations, he has now produced a series of distillates from individual fruits and herbs that impressed us. Initially, he distilled the individual ingredients for his gins separately. He will be bringing these spirits, which won him a bunch of medals at the last Craft Spirits Berlin, with him to Berlin.

Exhibitor N°25 Hendrik Schaulin – pHenomenal Drinks
June 1st 11AM-6PM – Berlin, Kreuzberg
We all want a better world. But getting there is hard work. So the desire for a drink to recover from the effort quickly arises. But once you've had that drink, the desire for a better drink grows, because a better drink is also a contribution to a better world, isn't it?
In this case, it was the desire for a better gin and tonic. Decent gins are now a dime a dozen. But most of them are mixed with industrially produced lemonade called tonic. Not satisfied, Hendrik started brewing handmade tonic syrups in his kitchen. The world may not seem any better now, but Hendrik's pHenomenal gin and tonic certainly makes it a little more bearable.

Exhibitor N°24 Filip Bibic – BIBICh Winery
June 1st 11AM-6PM – Berlin, Kreuzberg
Link nicht bio
The BIBICh winery is almost something of a national treasure, as the first Croatian wines to be served in international Michelin-starred restaurants were produced here. Located off the beaten track in the Skradin region, an oasis of enjoyment was slowly created here during the civil war. Years later, Anthony Bourdain paid tribute to the Bibic family's efforts and documented them in detail.
Filip Bibic comes to Berlin with vermouth in his luggage, among other things. But the main reason for his trip is that he comes from the region where the original Maraschino comes from. This is where the real marasca cherries grow. And we are curious to see if we can try this local specialty.

Exhibitor N°21 Joov J. Hargil – Jullius Craft Distillery, Israel
June 1st 11AM-6PM – Berlin, Kreuzberg
Joov is a true pioneer. When he founded his distillery in 2008, awareness of artisanal distillation was still in its beginnings. It was completely unknown in his home country of Israel. He was the first to create a distillery using only local ingredients. Joov distills spirits from a variety of local fruits such as lemons (Etrog), mandarins, prickly pears, figs and various types of grape pomace. Some of these ingredients are not only indigenous, but also reflect local tradition. In addition, Joov is the first distillery in Israel to distill honey and gin, and to produce a herbal bitter from local herbs. We have been following Joov's work for a long time and are delighted that he will be presenting his outstanding spirits in person at FREIMEISTER & FRIENDS on June 1st.

Exhibitor N°20 Lisa Bauer – DEVIN Spirits
June 1st 11AM-6PM – Berlin, Kreuzberg
Lisa is from Eastern Styria in Austria. She grew up on her family's farm with its own “Buschenschank”. This is a typical wine tavern in the region where only wine from their own vineyards can be served. Lisa's family offers almost exclusively products from their farm. Whether wine, meat, sausages, herbs, vegetables, bread, or schnapps - everything is grown or produced on the farm.
After studying oenology in Austria, Lisa worked in wineries and distilleries in Spain and Latin America. Back home, she not only manages the family cellar but has also started her own distillery. The combination of an excellent education, international work experience, and a strong connection to nature from birth shapes her sense for the flavors of her farm. Seemingly intuitive and completely undogmatic, Lisa creates drinks with a clear signature. On June 1st you can taste her exciting creations and meet Lisa in person.

Exhibitor N°19 Matthias Sievert– Spiritus Rex DE
June 1st 11AM-6PM – Berlin, Kreuzberg
Matthias' background is unusual in every way for a fruit distiller. He comes from the northernmost corner of Germany, where fruit distillates are virtually unknown. But the full-time laboratory supplies dealer has always been a fan of distilled fruit. Over the years, his admiration for the craft of Christoph Keller, who has taken fruit eau de vie to new heights with his Stählemühle distillery, has grown into a friendship. When Christoph Keller decided to close his legendary distillery in 2016, Matthias took over his legacy. 95 percent of the quality of a eau-de-vie is determined by the quality of the fruit, says Matthias. That is why he is always on the lookout for the best fruit and old, forgotten varieties. His search has taken him as far away as Kyrgyzstan. Matthias will be coming to Berlin on June 1st with a selection of brandies from his distillery Spiritus Rex.

Exhibitor N°18 Anton Petrov – Voevodka UA, Freimeisterkollektiv DE
Meet The Distillers
June 1st 11AM-6PM – Berlin, Kreuzberg
Anton Petrov, seen in the first picture with his son, and the singer , who loves his horseradish vodka. He is a distiller from Kyiv who has worked for the Freimeisterkollektiv since fleeing his homeland. His passion for handcrafted distillates led him to distilling. He abandoned his education as an aeronautical engineer to pursue a career as a journalist. For more than fifteen years, Anton worked as a journalist, editor, and media manager. Eventually, he turned his hobby into a career. The production of liqueurs and distillates, to which he had previously devoted his spare time, became a small family business. Anton's handcrafted drinks were popular among liquor connoisseurs in Ukraine.
All this ended abruptly in February 2022, after the Russian attack on Ukraine. Anton and his family were forced to leave their homeland. Their flight across Europe finally ended in Berlin, where Anton became part of our collective.

Exhibitor N°15 Pedro Paiva – Alba Destilaria
June 1st 11AM-6PM – Berlin, Kreuzberg
Rosana Cavaleri and Pedro Paiva distill some of the most exciting spirits to come out of Brazil today. Their distillery is located in the southern province of Rio Grande do Sul. It is surrounded by sugar cane fields and vineyards. In the Monte Belo do Sul region, they define what terroir means for sugar cane distillates. The sugar cane comes either from their cultivation or from farms in the region. Pure sugar cane is pressed and the juice is fermented with local yeast cultures. In contrast to conventional fermentation, which usually takes no longer than 24 hours, fermentation here takes up to 30 days and more. This slow fermentation is responsible for the significantly greater complexity of the end product. Distillation also takes place as slowly as possible in a still with a bain-marie. The result is a surprising variety of aromas that allow the terroir to be experienced in the glass. We are delighted that Pedro will be presenting his distillates to a German audience in person for the first time on June 1st.
Rüdiger is the 15th generation to run his distillery. It was first mentioned in a document in 1707. It is a traditional German Korn distillery. It mainly processes certified organic grain from the surrounding area. In the second half of the 20th century, many traditional grain distilleries sold out. They focused on quantity instead of quality. The Sasse family took the opposite approach. Here, the emphasis was on top quality and maturing in barrels. We must be particularly grateful to Rüdiger for this today, because unfortunately there are very few domestic Korn distilleries of this quality left. Unwavering consistency, the best ingredients and outstanding craftsmanship characterize Rüdiger's spirits. On June 1st, Rüdiger will personally present this variety and quality.

N°14 Richard Ducret – Distillerie de Lyon
June 1st 11AM-6PM
Berlin, Kreuzberg – Erkelenzdamm 59-61
Richard founded his first distillery in 2016 at the age of just 20. The chemical engineer and cocktail enthusiast ventured into a regional specialty from the area around the French town of Pontarlier. He gave the Liqueur de Sapin, a liqueur made from fir needles, a new character by smoking the needles before distillation. In 2021, he moved to Lyon and founded the Distillerie de Lyon in the heart of the city. Here he has expanded his portfolio considerably. In addition to extraordinary liqueurs, he also produces rum, which he both stores in barrels and spices. His main product, however, is a drink that has a somewhat old-fashioned reputation. He produces a pastis. His L'Anis de Gones is a modern interpretation of this popular classic. And he has succeeded in this interpretation, as L'Anis de Gones was awarded the title of best pastis in the world in both 2022 and 2023. We look forward to welcoming Richard and his classics with a twist to Berlin on June 1st.

Stefan draws on this vast experience and has further perfected his craft. He distils the fruit eaux-de-vie typical of the region as well as gin and whisky. Each distillate is produced with the utmost care and patience. Only the best ingredients are used. The high-proof result has won several awards and enjoys a high reputation among connoisseurs.

Anyone who follows the activities of the Freimeisterkollektiv for a while will know how much we appreciate Katharina Zott. The oenologist with a doctorate has a flair for fine aromas and flavors. She combines specialist knowledge, craftsmanship and a love of experimentation. Katharina uses these three ingredients and, of course, the fruits from her family's own fruit orchard to distil outstanding spirits. She works according to the traditions of her craft and at the same time questions the usual categories of spirits. She develops new things by experimenting. She is coming to Berlin with a selection of her most exciting spirits. Katharina also has a brandy made from smoked pears in her luggage. We are particularly looking forward to tasting it.

The Mozer family is like a perfect organism. Everyone has their tasks and special talents, all of which contribute to the perfect functioning of the fruit farm and the associated distillery. The youngest generation is represented by Constantin. He will also be coming to Berlin to present the wide range of spirits from the family business. Together with his mother Christine and his father Fritz-Martin, they distill these in their distillery. The range is wide. From classic fruit eaux-de-vie to barrel-aged apple brandies, various gin experiments, fruit liqueurs, and delicious sparkling fruit wines, the Mozers produce everything together on their farm. N°10 – Stefan Dorst – MERWUT
June 1st 11AM-6PM
Berlin, Kreuzberg – Erkelenzdamm 59-61
Stefan is not so much a distiller as a cellar master. For decades, he very successfully looked after the cellars of wineries on various continents. He is also known as the “Flying Winemaker” because his knowledge and experience is in high demand in wineries around the world. He is said to be responsible for the vinification of over 50 different vintages. Among other things, Stefan looks after wineries in Spain. It was there that he got to know and love vermouth. In 2013, he began bottling his first own vermouth in his native Palatinate. Since then, Stefan has not only created vermouth, but also a wine-based amaro. He usually uses still wine for his vermouths, which on the one hand is very time-consuming and therefore rare, but on the other hand gives them a complexity that is otherwise unknown in vermouths. Stefan is coming to Berlin to present his entire range.

N°9 – Liisa Luhaste
June 1st 11AM-6PM
Berlin, Kreuzberg – Erkelenzdamm 59-61
Liisa Luhaste studied chemistry. Her research for her master's thesis led her to the Moe distillery in Estonia, where she initially focused on the quality control of fermentation processes.
Her knowledge of fermentation and yeast soon made her irreplaceable for the distillery. In 2020, Liisa took over the entire management of the distillery. Liisa focuses on high-quality distillates, most of which are certified organic and made exclusively from local rye. Under her leadership, the sustainability of production has been further improved. With her scientific expertise, she has succeeded in further improving the outstanding quality of the traditional distillery and equipping it with state-of-the-art distilling technology.
We hope that Liisa will not only bring her excellent organic vodka to Berlin, but also more experimental spirits such as poppy seed gin, cannabis vodka and black garlic vodka.

N°8 – Georg Hiebl
June 1st 11AM-6PM
Berlin, Kreuzberg – Erkelenzdamm 59-61
Every craft, every community has its heroes. Georg is a hero in the world of eau-de-vie distillers, an absolute authority. He is a superstar of fruit brandy and at the same time an extremely modest person.
He inherited the farm and small distillery from his parents. He focused on the distillery and adapted the 300-year-old farm with its many fruit trees accordingly. For two decades, he has been distilling excellent spirits from anything that can be distilled. He has distilled spirits from well over a hundred different ingredients. A variety of flavors that is second to none. And the quality of his spirits, especially his pome fruit eaux-de-vie, is simply sensational.
He will be coming to Berlin in person on June 1st to offer a large selection of his brandies for tasting..
