Who likes steaks? 🥩✋️ We could baptize this one as Steak allá Bayerisch as it sleeps on a bed of German Sauerkraut. 🇩🇪🥬

We love experimenting in the kitchen and mixing flavors, as well as pairing with good wines. For this occasion, we suggested a Barbera from from Piemonte. 🇮🇹🍷

When you see this sign you know for sure you are going on the right direction. Tokaj, the most famous wine region in Hungary and one of the most important ones in the world produces some of the highest quality desert wines. 🇭🇺🥂

In case you didn't know, the world's first vineyard classification system was established here in 1730 by royal decree, followed by the 1757 designation of Tokaj as the world's first appellation. 🥇👑

A full-bodied wine for a full-bodied dish. In this episode of kitchen experimentation, we went for a Lamb Goulash with potatoes, carrots, and red peppers. 🐑🥘

Besides a good Hungarian wine, we thought a delicious Ribera del Duero wine from would do the trick, and we weren't wrong. The aromatic wine with dark fruits taste paired perfectly with this delicacy. 🍷😍

This calm Saturday made us remember that special trip to Bordeaux during the Christmas holidays and also gave us an excuse to open a delicious wine from 🍷.

Perhaps you haven't heard about Le Rose Pauillac, but they are a small cooperative born in 1933 from the desire of around thirty owners to come together to make a Grand Médoc wine in AOC Pauillac. For over 90 years, they have produced delicious wines putting the name of Pauillac high together with giants of the industry like Chateau Lafite Rothschild. 🇨🇵

At Wine Wonders you can find their 2014 vintage, which offers a great price quality option for such a prestigious wine region. 🥂

Spending a few days at the Canary Islands was not only therapeutic, but also a good opportunity to discover some exotic, yet delicious wines that can't be found everywhere. ☀️🏝

Born in volcanic soil, some of the wines show flavours like no others. Besides the terroir, the autochthonous varieties give these wines a distinctive taste. Listán Negro & Negramoll, are two examples of the grapes that made this Viña Norte red wine from , which offered fresh and juicy flavours of raspberry, pomegranate and cranberry. If you haven't tried a wine from a Spanish island, you would certainly be surprised. Cheers! 🌋🍷

A good steak deserves a great wine as a companion. And this Argentinian Bife got no other than a Gran Reserva from La Rioja. 🥩🍷

The clasifications vary from region to region in Spain, in La Rioja, for example, a Gran Reserva must be aged for a minimum of 60 months, of which at least 24 months need to be aged in oak barrels and the rest can be in the bottle before release. 🇪🇦

Our friends from take the aging to the next level. This 2009 bottle was aged for full 4 years (48 months) in oak barrels. This full-bodied and complex wine with wonderful flavours of red and dark fruits won several awards, and each of their following vintages continue to do so! 💥🏅

One of the beauties of spring besides the warmer weather is seeing flowers bloom and erupt back to life. 🌸 That is also the case for vines, which go on a dormant stage for a few months, until they feel comfortable again to boom back to life and in a matter of days you have a beautiful plant full of sprouts which soon become leaves. 🌱

Few days ago, we closed a successful term supporting the . 🍷 For the grand finale, we offered a 5 Course Nikkei Menu paired with our delicious wines. 🍽🥂

Needless to say, the dinner was wonderful, and amongst the dishes, we had Peruvian Ceviche 🐟, Salmon Tartar 🍣, Seafood Gyozas 🥟, Teriyaki Duck 🦆 and a delicious Matcha Cream dessert 🍧. While we offered wines from 🇪🇦🇭🇺🇮🇹.

On our last time to Mexico, a few weeks ago, we enjoyed this fantastic pairing. 😍 An outstanding Pauillac wine vintage 1986 from our lovely partners with deer filet in blackberry and red wine sauce! 🦌🍷

Sundays always feel better when you start your day off being active with some outdoor activity or sport and you close the day with a nice meal and a well deserved wine. 🥂

For dishes with raw fish, such as sushi, we can always recommend a complex white wine with high acidity to pair with the fat of the fish. This combination just goes perfectly together. 😍🍣 Our choice was the Kéknyelű from produced in 🇭🇺.

What would you pair a Carbonara with? 🤌🍝

This dish is often paired with creamy whites like a Chardonnay, but it also goes well with light red wines with medium to high acidity, such as Pinot Noir or Blaufränkisch, which in Hungarian is Kékfrankos. 🍇🍷

The Kékfrankos from is a fantastic example of a more complex wine, rather going on the medium body, but with nice acidity to pair with the Guanciale from the Carbonara. It has delicious dark fruit flavours and elegant tertiary notes of oak and dark chocolate. 🇭🇺🇮🇹

It seems like the warm days of this 2023 might be over in Germany. This also means that our bodies could start craving more red wine.

Luckily, there's light at the end of the tunnel. Because at .de, you can find a range of delicious wines from light-bodied Pinot Noirs to full-bodied Syrahs. From Hungarian wines, to Spanish, Italian or German. And even better, very soon these delicious Argentinean wines will be part of the portfolio. 😍🇦🇷

Some colors for the end of summer. ☀️😎 We are big foodies in this account and we love contrasting flavors to pair with our wines. 🍽🥂

One of our favorite creations came to life by redefining the usual ceviche, when using salmon together with some fruits, vegetales and other goodies. Sweet, sour and spicy flavours from honey, soy sauce and jalapeños also contributed to provide an umami flavour. 🐟🍋🥭🥑🍇🥒🌶

Heute gibt es bei uns mal einen Rotwein aus Italien. 🥰🍷 Der Barbera Piemonte vom kleinen Weingut Azienda Giribaldi wird aus einer der bedeutensten Rebsorten des Piemonts hergestellt und ist ein wunderbar leichter, trockener Rotwein. 🍇 Wir genießen ihn heute typsch italienisch gepaart mit Pasta. 🍝🥂

Man sagt ja immer: „Es gibt kein schlechtes Wetter, nur die falsche Ausrüstung!“ 🌦️☂️🍷
Wir setzen auf die richtige Ausrüstung und genießen das heutige Regenwetter bei einer ganz besonderen Flasche Rotwein: Dem Chobeo 2012 vom Weingut Hermanos Peciña in La Rioja.

Ein vielfach hochgelobter Wein, der unter anderem einen Robert Parker Score von 92 Punkten erzielte und bei Tim Atkin sogar mit 95 Punkten ausgezeichnet wurde. 🥇

The Art of Winemaking. 🍷
On paper it might sound simple; picking grapes, pressing them, fermenting their juice and bottling the resulting product. However, there are a bunch of variables that could go wrong even before the grapes are there. 🍇

This is why we value winemakers so much, because every single wine tells a story, of the vineyard, its terroir and of the challenges faced during that time. As well as the way it patiently waits until it's its time to come to the world. 🌍

Wir fanden es einfach so passend, wie majestätisch sich unser Tokaj Szamorodni von Karadi Berger hier präsentiert. Durch eine spezielle Edelfäule wird dieser Dessertwein herrlich süß und bekommt nicht ohne Grund häufig den Namen "Nektar der Götter". 🍷🍯🤴🏻🏰
Wir lieben ihn einfach! 😍 Und können ihn jedem empfehlen, der ein unvergessliches Geschmackserlebnis sucht.

Our Story

All our dreams can come true, if we have the courage to pursue them...

The origin of Wine Wonders dates back to autumn of 2014, after the founder did an Erasmus semester in Budapest, Hungary. Back at the time, he knew little about wines, however this passion originated out of curiosity to taste some local wines with exotic names.

As for any student with limited money, the budget for drinks was not much, but he was surprised to see the quality of some of the red wines from grape varieties he had never seen or heard before in his life. Since then he dreamed about commercializing Hungarian Wine and introducing it to the world. Throughout his time in Hungary he would try numerous different wines while learning about its history. However this dream was far from reality without a concrete plan or money.

At the beginning of 2015 he returned to his home country, Mexico, to finish his bachelor’s degree. That year he would meet a girl that would make him dream big and set his next objective again in Europe. He graduated from International Marketing and while working he applied to numerous jobs in Austria and Germany without success. The odds of finding a job without much work experience and a Non-European Passport seemed very low, however he wouldn’t give up. Instead, he found a way around, through a master’s degree. In the end his dream was simply to be closer to the girl he loved. After dozens of applications, he got accepted for a master’s degree at the Technical University of Munich, starting on autumn 2016. He bought a one-way ticket to pursue his dreams and a new life leaving Mexico behind.

As soon as he arrived in Germany, he had one thing in mind. You need to start working as fast as possible and earn in Euros to be able to finance your living in an expensive city like Munich. He would immediately find a job working in sales for a beer company, parallel to his studies. In autumn 2018 he would successfully finish his studies and start working fulltime. Not visiting Mexico in two years and not seeing his dad, he would bring him to spend Christmas 2018 and organize a trip to the place, which was once his home, Budapest.

The visit to Budapest was prolific; a couple of wine tastings and the magic liquid made its enchantment, just like in former times. After a great trip, his dream of distributing Hungarian wines came back, but this time with a more concrete plan and a perfect market for it, Germany. 2019 would be the year that everything started to take shape. A new adventure would arise after meeting the key person, while ordering some Hungarian wines. Honest business talks and sharing a humble dream granted an invitation to the wine tasting portfolio.

Once again, the visit to Budapest was successful, only this time Carlos and his girlfriend had found the perfect partners. Small family wine producers from all over Hungary gathered up to present wines of the highest quality and complexity. Back in Munich and fully motivated, it was time to set up the company.

Just like registering yourself as a resident of the city, setting up a company requires a long process and big amounts of patience. Researching about the regulations, choosing a name, changing your working visa, saving the money, choosing the type of business, finding a trustful notary, opening a bank account, are just some of the steps that it took. But no challenge can defeat an ambitious man and in January 2020, Wine Wonders GmbH was successfully established.
