"My appreciation for the work of Calliope Volitaki and Βασιλης Λαδερος has been expressed countless times, since the two oenologists-winemakers from Venerato Maleviziou manage with a few words and a lot of work to (almost) always bottle excellent wines.

Of course, the business in Vidiano is the most difficult, not only because the competition comes from every winery on the island, but also because their winery is located in the heart of Dafnes Appelation, from where the variety began its brilliant modern way.

The tank version - there is also the incredible Hesperis cask - comes from a sloping, dry vineyard with 35-year climates located at 300-500 meters and as we are used to, Idaea wins the impressions on a good day.

The reason is its wonderful golden yellow color but also the explosive, dense bouquet reminiscent of Californian Chardonnay and filling the space with pineapple, white asparagus and of course the apricot aroma that characterizes the variety. You can hardly stop smelling this Vidiano, but when you do and put the first sip in your mouth, the smile becomes even wider. Although medium in body, the richness of flavor, perfect balance, impressive length and rich fruit make it seem much more exuberant. However, the wine never becomes flabby since there is a perfectly integrated acidity that works "in the background" tirelessly taking care of the nerve and strength.

And this Vidiano needs a relatively large glass to express its multi-layered character, with the Stolzle Revolution Red once again proving the best of the variety. Being explosive, the wine does not need the crutch of high temperatures, so fans of concentration can maximize this virtue by choosing 11-13 C. A fish dish should have a buttery sauce to match, but white meats with fruit, pumpkin risotto or a la Milanese, honeyed chickpeas and cabbage dumplings will offer perfect harmony without conditions! ...
