El Tamarindo

Una de las estrellas en la preparación del chamoy. El chamoy de tamarindo y las bolitas de tamarindo son de los productos más vendidos.

De niña no me gustaba tener que pelar el tamarindo para hacer agua de frutas pero ahora lo encuentro relajante?

Un tip para que sea más sencillo y rápido es hervir agua y remojar el tamarindo en el agua hierviendo por unos 5-10 minutos, la cascara se suaviza y es mucho más sencillo pelarlos ;)

Un poco tarde pero queria darme el tiempo de prepararla exactamente como quería, con limón, salsa valentina, distintos tipos de papitas y 2 tipos de chamoy! Chamoy clásico y chamoy de tamarindo!

El chabacano deshidratado es uno de los ingredientes principales en la preparación del chamoy clásico, tamarindo y manzana. Utilizo este tipo de chabacano deshidratado que es libre de azufre y por eso el color no es naranja como comunmente se ve en el supermercado! Me encanta el sabor ligeramente a caramelo que tienen y son super carnosos y suavecitos.

Die getrocknete Aprikose ist eine der haupt Zutaten in der Vorbereitung vom Chamoy (Classic, Tamarinde und Apfel). Ich benutze ungeschwefelte getrocknete Aprikose, deshalb sie nicht Orangen aussehen.
Ich liebe dass sie leicht einen Karamel Touch haben und dass sie ganz dick und weich sind.

The dried apricots is one of the main ingredients in the preparation of the classic, tamarind and apple Chamoy!
I use unsulphurized dried spricots to remain more natural and that's why they don't have an orange color.
I love that they have a light caramel taste and that they are quite meaty and soft.

Did you know that tomatillo verde is actually a type of berry?

Tomatillo verde which is an essential in the Mexican cuisine is not available in Germany, for the last 3 years I have been growing them on my own, this year I started since January planting the seeds inside my apartment to have better results, unfortunately August felt around here like autumn and there was a lot of rain and wind so they have been growing at a slow pace. I am glad that I can have the first batch of the amazing "green gold" as they are known in Europe.

Growing your own vegetables is something really special, the patience and love that you need and the sense of accomplishment after the hard work is great! I would have never thought that someday i would be growing this on my own but the experience is awesome.
