The very 1st Red wine ever attempted, so I sought to give it an appropriate name.

Red 1: Born April 2022 - Bottled April 2023. Rested 2 months on med. Charred Oak.
Grapes: Dunkelfelder and Dornfelder
Abv @ 10%. Dry

Turned out to look a bit like a Rosé.
Small 15 ltr batch.

The Frandsen Meaderys Master Mazer has been quite busy with other obligations in life...such as a regular full time job. However, he just found time to bottle up a special 5 liter batch he created in Feb 2021.
Using honey from a hive located along the Rhine River (Rhine River Valley Honey) he fermented 5 liters to apx 14% abv.
This mead was finished and stabilized in April 2021, but has been sitting since. Today it was finally bottled and tasted for the first time in over 6 months.
The taste is smooth and with a note of caramel. It is so clear you can almost read something on the other side of the bottle.
It has 10gms of honey added from the original Rhine River Valley Honey to give a more robust flavor profile.

Only 5 bottles exist from this small batch, so it will be one that is shared at our next gathering and mead tasting. Our Master Mazer will recreate in a larger batch in the near future.

The Frandsen Meaderys second run of a Xmas Glühwein - honey wine is now officially into fermentation. It will begin at appx 8% abv, but in the end will get a lab analysis to determine our final alcohol percentage. It will finish @ August/September, and then be ready for everyone to enjoy at X Mas!
Should have about 60-70 bottles in the end. 🍯🥂

Our latest creation: The Danish Bochet

So what exactly is a bochet?

Well, glad you asked! A mead is called a bochet when the honey has been heated before fermentation so that it produces a caramelized flavor profile. The darker the color, the more complex the flavors can become.
This bochet is made from honey sourced from Denmark. It is lightly smoked and has notes of caramel and light toffee. It is a smooth 8% abv.

Apple Cinnamon Cyser- 4 months from start to finish.

This small batch of 5 Liters yielded 6 wine bottles total, and a few sample shots. The 700ml bottles were all spoken for and found new homes within hours of bottling. ABV @ 10%. Enjoy my friends!

We will soon do a larger, 30 liter run, but will take about 4-6 months...should be ready for the Summer time!

We are extremely proud of this mead!

It was a bit pricey to make, but it’s quality.
It is our own mix/recipe, as I wanted to just make a few country themed meads using honey and yeast sourced from the specific country.
This is my Oceania Mix 🌏

Name: Awesome Aussie Mix
Ingredients: Tasmanian Leatherwood Honey (from AUS) + Mangrove Jack Yeast (from NZ)

For the moment this menu is only available to our friends in Germany. (We need time to figure out the logistics and pricing for wine shipping overseas). That probably won't happen until Spring 2021. We will keep you updated on future changes and availability. Wishing everyone a great friendsgiving spent with their closest family.

Thank you all for your opinions so far!
We decided to just get all 3 designs for the logo so we can be a bit versatile. #2 wins out for main favorite in the first round, but is going through more changes. We also introduced a new honey bee! Here you can see #1 and #3 design.
We are still unsure which is a best fit?
We will show you #2 design once it finishes its final changes.

We are using 300ml and .5l premium glass bottles with a cork stopper. They are absolutely beautiful 😍.

I am taking ideas for naming the batch of mead that we have created for our Friendsgiving 2020. It should be appx 12.5%.

The base ingredients are:
Fir honey from the Schwartzwald (Black Forest)
Pumpkin
Orange
Vanilla
Nutmeg
Cinnamon

Let us hear your ideas! The mead will likely be as dark as it is in the picture!
