Big things have small beginnings.
The DON is a project by the fashion photographer Patrick Wilen (www.patrickwilen.com) who lives since several years part time in Catalunya (Spain).
The maker of the wine is Wilen’s business partner Joan Arrufi of Altavins Viticultors located in the D.O. Terra Alta, a wine region in Catalunya.
Wilen dreamed for some time to do his own wine and contacted Joan. He agreed to take on the production of the DON.
Sales of the first bottles of “DON gran selección” started in 2015 with 2010 and 2011 vintages.
