Someone smashed in the back door and tore through the last remaining stock I had left after the flood. The place couldn't be insured and as I have no idea who did it or when it happened in the past month, I'll never recover any of it. If someone suddenly has a bunch of sunglasses and Bic lighters please punch them for me, or let me know who it is so I can deck them. -Trisha

Side note.. I noticed some moving blankets on the floor of the bathroom. If someone just needed to get out of the cold I wouldn't have been upset but they felt the need to trash the place.

We are moving! Our store will be on 49th street, across from the new hardware store. We are grateful to the county, provincial, and federal government for making our business safe from future flooding. We will reopen as soon as possible!

With nature's fireworks in the distance and the rain waiting until we got home this was an incredible half an hour display and a loving tribute to the survivors and their children who proudly say 'we are still here' Thank you to all the volunteers and donors who made this day special 🧡

I hope everyone watches this, there are right and wrong ways to work with sandbags. Don't want to go to all that effort and have it fall over.

Facebook Live demonstration on sandbagging.

When: tomorrow, April 21st @ 10am

Who should tune in: home owners & anyone willing to volunteer should the need arise.

Métis Local 74 staff will be on site to record a live demonstration by Samaritan’s Purse staff on how to use the sandbagging equipment and the proper way to create a sandbag barrier.

*It is important to know that Mackenzie County has made the sandbagging equipment and sand available for residents to protect themselves. Individual home owners & volunteers will be responsible for doing the actual sandbagging themselves. County staff will not be sandbagging individual residences in the event of a flood.*

Species sighting alert: Northern Electric Snake (Electriceae blockus heaterii)
This rare species only emerges in the coldest of temperatures and is often seen in driveways and parking lots. It has been known to migrate, but rarely survives the journey.
Watch for this elusive serpent along roads in residential areas. If the traffic is clear, wear gloves and gently scoop up the snake to return it to its natural habitat.
**Please do not stop in traffic to get a selfie with the snake!**
Remember that you too can protect this unique northern species by remembering to unplug before you drive away.
