Welcome to Ontario's South Coast, our warm hospitality and our wine! Our vineyards and wineries are located in the glacial sand plain deposits from the last ice age. Our wine heritage reaches way back to the first European explorers, French Missionaries Dollier and Galinee! In 1669, Dollier and Galinee travelled along the Lake Erie shoreline and arrived in Port Dover where they established their w

inter camp and discovered the local grapes. Today, our vineyards boast of hybrids and vinifera grapes. So Come South and discover for yourself what Dollier and Galinee found - "there is assuredly no more beautiful region in Canada". We have combined our efforts and resources to assist members committed to advance growth and promote a distinctive wine industry in Ontario's South Coast region.

Jenny and her team have been frequent supporters of our local breweries & wineries since they started in 2013. They provide Port Dover and surrounding areas with a fun and comfortable neighbourhood cheese shop that has quality cheese and exceptional customer service 💛

Not only do they have a beautiful storefront that is open year-round, but they have a charcuterie cart for pop-up events & celebrations, and they also make the most beautiful charcuterie boards and cheese cakes for special occasions.

They’re always on the hunt to bring new and exciting cheeses + other products like chocolate and hostess gifts for you to enjoy. Known for their super helpful curd nerds, they’re ready to help you with all your cheesy needs.

We wanted to take a moment to acknowledge some folks within our industry who are forward thinkers, leaders and helping individuals + businesses implement new sustainable ways of living, farming and planning for our future.

🌱 is a program that is engaging farmers and ranchers in creating, restoring and enhancing new acres of nature to respond to local environmental challenges he’s help build community resilience and fight climate change and biodiversity loss.

🌱 are working hard to have all of Ontario’s VQA wineries and vineyards to be Sustainable Winegrowing Ontario Certified by 2030.

🌱 is hosting their conference with sessions like, “Think Local, ACT Global. Sustainability at the Forefront” and making the topic of sustainability and caring for the environment a primary topic.

🌱 is a non profit charity promoting research, monitoring, community outreach, partnerships, and education that support the goals of biodiversity, conservation, and sustainable communities in Norfolk County. “All living things thrive here together.”

🌱 is encouraging tourists within Southwestern Ontario to take the responsible travel pledge, and is providing training opportunities to support tourism stakeholders.plus, they’re participating in the program to help improve sustainability in tourism.

𝑾𝒆 𝒂𝒓𝒆 𝒑𝒍𝒆𝒂𝒔𝒆𝒅 𝒕𝒐 𝒂𝒏𝒏𝒐𝒖𝒏𝒄𝒆 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒘𝒊𝒏𝒏𝒆𝒓𝒔 𝒐𝒇 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝑮𝒓𝒆𝒂𝒕 𝑮𝒓𝒂𝒑𝒆𝒔 𝒂𝒘𝒂𝒓𝒅𝒔 𝒄𝒐𝒎𝒑𝒆𝒕𝒊𝒕𝒊𝒐𝒏 🏆

This wine awards competition of the local wineries in Elgin and Norfolk County is where wines competed in seven categories from wines produced in 2023 or earlier. The wines were tasted blind by a wide ranging panel of judges and winners were selected by those scores.

We created the Great Grapes wine competition to highlight the incredible wines being made within the Elgin and Norfolk County region. This event will occur every two years to allow grape growers and wineries in the area to produce new top quality wines and vintages to enter into the competition.
